June 28, 200620 yr Was talking about how exciting this team has been and that he hopes that Beinfest doesn't mortgage the future by trading for a playoff run rental.
June 28, 200620 yr I agree, the majority of our core players need to stay, wayyy to fun to watch this team play.
June 28, 200620 yr definitely. if we do trade for a playoff run piece, we need to give up someone who doesn't really fit into the team's future, and hopefully get back someone good who can stay here for a good while.
June 28, 200620 yr let's face it, to get something of quality, you have to give up something of quality. Petit is probably good trade bait for a quality CFer. Just throwing out names: Wily Mo? Torii Hunter? (too expensive probably) Ibanez? Taveras? Corey Patterson? Juan Pierre?
June 28, 200620 yr Man I would love JP back. I'd bet anything he would do better here. He'd be a great mix with the atmosphere, his friend DTrain and he would also be a great example with his work ethic which I'm sure Girardi would praise.

June 28, 200620 yr JP needs to stay as far away from this team as possible. W/ JP, Agon, and Juan Encarnacion on our team last year it's no suprise we had a down year.
June 28, 200620 yr We don't have to sacrifice players on our active roster to get quality players in return. Petit, Pinto, Gaby...all pitchers that would likely command attention on the open market...and all players that in all likelihood are not good enough to be in our rotation--especially with West, Volstad, Thompson, etc right behind them and with higher ceilings.
June 28, 200620 yr i agree with THutt, there is no need to rade anyone...if it aint broke dont fix it, right now everything is working, but the parts that are working now could falter or get injured, look im enjoying this run as much as anybody but we are still not very likely to win the whole shabang...why not take a look at everybody befor ewe start trading them off....what if pinto or petit are the next Santana and Verlander....lets not get caught up in the moment we are still building for the future and we need to keep that future here
June 29, 200620 yr With how great the pitching is, I'd still like a good bat in the CF spot to try and get an extra run a game than they've been scoring
June 29, 200620 yr Look trade one of our pitching prospect or 2 from the minor for a young outfielder. That would be a good upgrade from what we got now. i agree with THutt, there is no need to rade anyone...if it aint broke dont fix it, right now everything is working, but the parts that are working now could falter or get injured, look im enjoying this run as much as anybody but we are still not very likely to win the whole shabang...why not take a look at everybody befor ewe start trading them off....what if pinto or petit are the next Santana and Verlander....lets not get caught up in the moment we are still building for the future and we need to keep that future here It still kinda broken. Our hitter are not scoring much lately.
