GAME NOTES

A series loss against the Red Sox was a disappointing setback for the Marlins, but they know it doesn't exactly make or break their season. "These guys are hungry, I don't think they're satisfied with where they're at," Girardi said.

The Marlins also know they have a lot of work to do if they are going to remain competitive in the National League East. In spite of an 18-7 record in June, the Marlins still remain eight games below .500. And though they have moved up to third place in the NL East, they'll be hard pressed to catch the division-leading Mets, who are 12 games ahead of the Marlins.

The Marlins' next step will begin Monday night, when Ricky Nolasco takes the mound against the Nationals in the first game of a four-game set.

He'll take the mound against the Nationals' Pedro Astacio, who is making his first start of the season since coming off the DL with a right forearm sprain.

Astacio will be making his first start of the season after spending the first half of the season on the DL with a right forearm strain.

Cool off Zimmerman in the series especially wit RISP, just saw the stat in the comment and thats ouch lol. Win today shows that we can easily rebound and go back to playing our baseball. Knowing that Astacio is not going to be throwing much tonight better to jump on him early because we know Nolasco will do his part with us.

GO MARLINS!!!

lets make his season debut memorable... so memorable that he'll have nightmares about it.

WAS: RHP Pedro Astacio (6-10, 4.69 ERA in 2005)

Astacio will be making his first start of the season after spending the first half of the season on the DL with a right forearm strain.

Look like no one reads the game note posted by MarlinsFanMan77 anymore. :sad
