It could have been Phil Hendrie playing one of his "characters" during his show to provoke calls from hispanics as a joke...If someone on WIOD had made a serious comment like that I'd assume that they would be fired.

Neil Rogers always does things like that. WIOD would not allow anyone but Henry to do that. They did fire him once for doing that, but have picked up his national radio show since then.

Then they put on a couple of shock jocks, I didn't need that nonsense. That left me with the arrogant fat-butt Hank Goldberg. Suffice it to say, I don't listen anymore unless I left it on to hear the Marlins pre-game show. (And Eddie K is okay, but his main interest is staying awake.)

I know it wasn't Rush, cause he has the highest respect for hispanics seeing us as hard-working, honest people who are happy to be in United States and are family people. dude i was eating, havent eaten all day. it was during a news update, right before Dr. Laura came on, i dont know who does the news updates for them. i do know that it was a report stating how the population of hispanics has increased in the Southern and western United States, to start it off whoever does the news actually called it "The Browning of America". its one of those recorded updates they replay as the morning goes while the shows go on commercial

Anyways, Neil Rogers pulls worse than that. The "I wanna go the Ameri-ka" thing he does annoys the hell out of me. Makes Hispanic women seem like sluts who will marry anyone (like Hank Goldberg) to move to the U.S. Marlins on WIOD, WRFX, or WAXY would be a 250% improvement over WQAM.
September 28, 200322 yr i used to listen to Neil a lot when i was younger. the dude cracked me up. i know it sounds like im contradicting myself but when he sayshis crazy s*** he's trying to annoy people or get a rise out of them. when a serious news update says something like that its different. but i dont care what station the Marlins are on. i just want to make sure that when i cant watch the game on TV i can switch to a station and listen to the game.

September 28, 200322 yr QAM's post game was disgusting. For example, Lowell got a hit, big deal, it was against a Met's pitcher. And "Anybody could have managed this team." These guys really suck. The Flagship. They make me puke. I didn't hear the post game QAM show. Were these comments from Boog, Dave or fans calling in? Who? And what did they say? Please reply. Thanks.

It was not Dave or Boog, it was on the sports talk show following the game. Basically, the caller asked about Jack McKeon's chances of being named manager of the year. The response was that he should not be named it, that anybody could have managed this group. Jack did not get Cabrera, Willis, Conine, Urbina....they were given to him. The players and the front office did it, not Jack. He even told the caller that he (the caller) could have managed this team with the same success (interesting since Torborg couldn't get it done.) Caller: "You just have an ax to grind with McKeon." Jackass commentator: "I couldn't give a rat's a** about McKeon." Great support there guys. BTW Cape, Kiss FM did not pick up QAM's format, they have been doing country since well prior to '93. And rock is not any part of their format.
September 29, 200322 yr That's Why you listen to my boys Felo Ramirez and Jiki Quintana on WQBA 1140! That's what I call an All Star team. Felo and Jiki do an excellent job. After we clinched the WC the post show was awesome! They were in tears. They are 100% pure Marlins all the way . . . .
