August 8, 200620 yr We're now 5.5 games back, thanks St. Louis The difficulty with possibly winning the wild card, and the reason why it's a 50/1 shot right now....is beacuse we are no longer chasing just the Reds. We are chasing the Reds, Diamondbacks, and Dodgers....and of course the other 4-6 teams above us. But chasing the top 3 makes it much harder than it was 10 days ago when we had the Reds and everybody else. Now, we need to win our bunch of games(34-17 may do it), but we also need THREE teams to play meh. I again say we need to go 8-1 or 9-0 on the road trip to continue any possible thought of a WC. Even if we go 9-0....we'd still need to finish up 25-17 after that amazing feat. . . For the wild card...it's not looking likely. I'm still proud of how the team has done so far

August 8, 200620 yr i think the same too i am happy the way their been playing this season we going to have up and down that what happen now this team still have alot to learn before we talk about wc race but their going better team next few year so other team wont think we are going to be walk in park when their play us

If you get hot, you have a real good chance of taking the lead. As for whoever said you need 3 teams to play meh. Everyone but the Mets and at times the Cardinals have been playing meh all season.

They have far exceeded most of the prognosticators expectations, and even my optimistic expectations as a fan. I just wanted 70-75 wins this year, and now I think we have a chance at 73-78. Think about it, a team that started 21 rookies finishing just 4 games back of last year's veteran laiden team ? :mischief2 My hats off to the kids AND the coaching staff on this team :notworthy

Just appreciate thjat the team has been doing good, I know a lot of you want back in the post season but I rather we have these guies at their best potential and not through their rookie season before makeing a push for a world title. :thumbup

Not even a 10 game winning streak. As I said earlier we are now chasing 3 teams who are now ahead of us by at least 5 games. Even if we win 10 in a row, the other 3 teams would need to ALL play 4-6 or worse. We'd certainly be closer to the top than we are now though. Let's go out and win those 8 or 10 in a row and see where things stand then.
August 12, 200620 yr everytime we get four game behind in wildcard we some how go into lossing steak i am more worry about games vs dodger who play us very good at home i hope this time we get them back for what their did to us in miami
August 12, 200620 yr This is wild. Great to see us still this close. Hopefully tommorow Olsen will join Nolasco and JJ in the 10 win club and we will inch our way closer.
