Anyone know what there is to do in Tampa?

Featured Replies

MaXx and I are going up to Tampa next month to see FIU football play USF. We're just gonna be there for the weekend. I was wondering if you guys know what else there is to do besides Busch Gardens and a Devil Rays game. Thanks.

Havent been to Tampa in a long time, but Ybor City is supposed to be a nice place to go at night-lots of restaurants, bars, clubs, etc. But it gets very crowded on weekend nights.

you pretty much hit it on the head, unless you want to go swimming on their lesser beaches :p

Tampa is sorta the backwards part of florida (besides the panhandle)

you should go to Museam of Science and Industry in Tampa, theres always something cool there. For something at night, i agree with going to Ybor City

If youre gonna go to St. Pete for a Rays game, i suggest going to The Pier before for something to eat

clearwater beach is nice...but other than that, i'd agree with the consensus decision regarding ybor.

The Pier sounds interesting. Thanks guys. If you have anything else to add, let me know.

Go to Berns Steakhouse its the most amazing restaurant ever.

I second that. Best place ever, although not cheap. I was there a couple weeks ago.

There are a bunch of minor-league baseball teams in the area. They include the Tampa Yankees, Dunedin Blue Jays, Clearwater Threshers (Philadelphia), Lakeland Tigers (slightly east of Tampa), and the Sarasota Red Sox (south of Tampa). Those teams are all in the Florida State League. There are more teams on the other coast, in St. Lucie, Vero Beach, Brevard County, Daytona, Jupiter, and Palm Beach.

Stop by Ferg's Sports bar for a great atmosphere.

And don't forget sex on the beach :D (hey, it's something to do!)

Yes, but you won't be here. You'll be there. Luckily it's something that can be done here, there, anywhere.

Yeah I was gonna mention that. Minor Leauge baseball is always fun. It's the Sarasota Reds now though, Sox moved their High-A affiliate to the Carolina League.

Dont forget about the D-Rays

I lived there and worked at the Forum for over a year, this is what I have learned.

Ybor City- fun but nothing too original. been there once. :thumbup

Channelside Drive- Probably more to do since I was there, but Howl at the Moon was a blast :thumbup :thumbup

I've never been to Bern's but I heard great reviews from the locals. Pricy though. :thumbup

Mons Venus Adult Entertainment- over rated by wide margins. If your into it, just skip it and go to any other one around town. Not even sure its still there! :thumbdown

and the number one destination?

Savador Dali Museum. Nuff said. :thumbup :thumbup :thumbup :thumbup :thumbup

My family and I have been going to Bern's Steakhouse for the past 15 years, faithfully. UNTIL old man Berns died. Then his greedy son took over. The quality has dropped slightly while the prices have risen significantly.

You can get better steak at Ruth's Chris Steak House here in Ft. Lauderdale.

The two things I really miss about Bern's is the hand-tossed at-your-table- Caesar salad and the dessert room.

And when they say it's not cheap- with wine, the both of you will wind up paying at least $100 for dinner- add on tip and the dessert room and you're talking almost $150.00.

The dessert room is the best place in the world. Not only are their desserts just amazing the setting is even better.

Check out their web site this restaurant is like none other.

Ive been going to Berns with my parents every year since I was 6 years old and no other restaurant has ever matched.
