Penny's chance to shine

Featured Replies

Beckett pitched a gem, unfortunately he gets to face up against the aces of this league. He lost a game against the Braves earlier when Russ Ortiz pitched a 3-hit shutout, meanwhile Beckett was flat out stellar.

Anyway, looks like it'll be Kirk Reuter tomorrow. The Fish hit lefties well & they knocked around Reuter pretty well last time I think. Penny can show a lot of critics what kind of pitcher he is with a big outing tomorrow.

More importantly, the bats had better come alive.

Looks like Ponson vs. Penny for Tomorrow.

Penny on the road during the day worries me. We are playing for survival here, take the risks!

They kept P and Castillo off base. Game Over. They need to get on base, just like we need to keep the top 3 Giants off the bases for Bonds. Our job is much easier. Lace em up again tomorrow.

i know what you mean bor.............. :unsure :

Today's ump was the same as the one in Atlanta behind the plate for Ortiz's 20th win, and we did the exact same thing. Get this guy away from the plate!

We can't get on base with the strike zone so big. Look for a repeat of the second game in ATL with the Marlins bats coming to life. Now if Penny can shut them out, we have a real good chance at this.

A win tomorrow makes it a best of three series with the Marlins taking homefield advantage.

A loss tomorrow puts us in desperation mode.

Whatever happens, this was a HELL of a season

Tommorow's game is the equivalent of a game 7!

Nontheless, a loss tommorow, and two wins at home puts us in a position to win game 5.

But, lets not get ahead of ourselves.

true

The ump was not terrible. Don't complain. He only missed one call the whole day, and that was the walk to Barry when his a** should have been sitting after a strike out. I got a call and five different IMs from people I wasn't even talking to wondering why that wasn't a strike. And what do you know, it led to a run. Whatever, hopefully Reuter pitches tomorrow so we can rough up Ponson on Friday and Willis gets us into the NLCS on Saturday.

BELIEVE!

Penny has been pitching so good lately. I hope he can get in a groove tommorow and pitch very good. Penny just needs to offense to provide some runs and he should be good.

Penny is awful at PBP! I believe he has an ERA of 6. But Ponson also struggles there so who knows

Penny needs to be pretend it is night time that is what he needs to do.

Yes! Have him wear sun-glasses or something.

That's the only thing I'm worried...What is it with him and day games? It's an unexplainable phenomenon just like how Knoublach lost his ability to throw to first base.

Baseball makes no sense.

Just something I saw on ESPN.com a couple minutes ago about tomorrow's game:

The Marlins will send Brad Penny to the mound for Game 2. Penny was unbeaten in his last five starts (3-0) in the regular season. The Giants will counter with Sidney Ponson, who was winless in his final four regular-season starts (0-3, 5.63).
