Hermida vs. Abercrombie

Recommended Posts

I know a few people are disappointed with Hermida's production. However, he usually has much better ABs than Reggie, here's a strange comparison so far:

Hermida (290 ABs) 5 HR, 26 RBI

Abercrombie (251 ABs) 5 HR, 24 RBI

....just pointing out that if we do want to compete for the wild card this year, Hermida's power numbers need to step up.

even though has a sweet swing...i look for mattingly type numbers from him...good average, makes the pitcher work and knocks around some singles and doubles...i wouldnt expect more than 15-20 homers a year from him

Reggie has a slightly better avg with RISP (.271 vs .269). Not sure what can really be derived from those stats, but honestly, aside from much better judgement of pitches (which isn't saying much), Hermida has very little if anything offensively on Reggie. I think if Reggie had Hermida's "eye" fo pitches so to speak, his numbers would probably be closer to Uggla's than Jeremy's.
