Padres and Marlins next games

the Pads need to face a 4 game series against L.A. in L.A. they could go 0-4 or 1-3 and the marlins could win 4 of 6 easily. of course they could also go 4-0 and we could go 1-5, but thats wat i mean. its never over till we r mathematically eliminated because anything can happen. hell lets say we win 11 of 16 [hypothetically] we will finish with a 84-78 and the pads go 7-9 they will end up with 83-78. thats not so far fetched. maybe we dont winn 11 and win 10 we will still be pretty good cause the pads have a tough schedule too. so lets just hope we get on a little 4 game winstreak and move to like 2 games back and make r way from there. bottom line is that we need to win alot but we have done it before. SO LETS GO FISH!!!!!!!!!!!

The Dodgers are .5 game infront of the Padres. One of those teams needs to sweep. Or the Dodgers win 3/4. GO MARLINS! We can do this.

Pads aren't going 7-9 (and there are teams ahead of us as well). It'll take at least 85 wins IMO

If we lose any ground this weekend its over. We had a great chance to pull within 1 tuesday but blew it. If we go down to 4 games, its over.

It's already 4.

Its not over until you have a big E next to your teams name

With the Padres-Dodgers series, a split would be very bad news. A 4 game sweep by either the Dodgers or the Padres would help our chances greatly. And we are catching the Braves at a perfect time. Their last gasp hope was the double header yesterday. They went into that thinking if they sweep they're still in the race. Now, after playing the whole season, they know that their season is over. It's very hard to avoid a big letdown for a few games when this happens. So, I think we can sweep them.

We have the hardest schedule to go through, nothing but winning teams accept for the braves that also play tough. the Reds are a posibility but you never know. It makes it that less encouraging that the Pads own the dodgers since like forever and are 11-3 against them this season. the thing is it's the Phillies that scare me, not the padres because the phils offence doesn't need good pitching.

were 3 1/2 back right now actually

4 games back in the loss column. Can't make up losses.

Are you guys forgetting San Fran is also ahead of us?? Those 3 teams may be battling for the NL West title with the 2nd place team taking the WC. This is going to be one interesting week end. We go to Atlanta where we have won 5 of the last 25 games. San Fran goes to Cards for 3 games while the Padres and Dodgers duke it out for 4 games. If the Astros can do a little spanking of their own and we turn that dismal "at Atlanta" record around we may actually look real good come Monday morning. Let's hope we catch a Braves team that is a little fatigued. Wed they played another double header, the third in 12 days. A tough series against a tough team. And I like the pitching match ups just fine for us.

Here's a little fuel for the fire. Near the start of the season a Braves announcer wondered aloud on TV if they really needed to play us 19 games a year to prove they are better than us. Don't just sweep em boys, embarass the heck out of em!!!!!! A few hard fouls into the broadcast booth would be nice too.

Honestly, considering that San Fran is only 1 game ahead of us, I'm not really thinking about them.

It's nice that you came up with an original thought for a change, but you should worry about San Fran. If the scenario I talked about yesterday regarding the Pads-Dodgers series(which you neatly borrowed in your Dodgas thread) unfolds, then we'd ultimately not need to worry about the loser of that series. The teams to worry about are the Phils and San Fran. All assuming we sweep of course.

And regarding the Braves announcers, I recall an opening day game that I watched a few seasons ago, The Braves announcers spent half the game discussing how many games they were going to win the division by. I love to beat the Braves.

What is that supposed to mean?

And I never 'copied' an idea from you. My thread was based on my personal thoughts; I had no idea (and still have no idea) where or when you posted something similar. But you're welcome to cyber fight me if you'd like.

Ah I see what you are referring to now. It's actually within this thread. I haven't read it before this moment. My apologies if you feel offended by my thread; I didn't know you copyrighted that idea.
