September 23, 200619 yr gonna be a tight finish if Willingham hadnt gotten hurt, he'd be at or above 30 homers and his name would be in this talk too
September 23, 200619 yr gonna be a tight finish if Willingham hadnt gotten hurt, he'd be at or above 30 homers and his name would be in this talk too :lol And if he didn't look like a beer-leaguer in left field.

This is silly.
September 23, 200619 yr enough about willy, this thread isnt about him...i think hanley has the most potential of all the candidates this year...but that generally doesnt equal winning the ROY award...with JJ being done for the year now and having his stats dip a bit at the end of the year...i think uggla gets it now...although hanley is gonna be a stud for years to come...he is a more athletic soriano

This is silly. Why is it silly? Do you really think they have a clue about his fielding in LF? I mean seriously. Explain it to me, for obviously you know how voters vote.
September 23, 200619 yr I really dont know. From what I see day in and day out from Hanley I would say no. Too many errors. But like Ramp mentioned, the voters wont give 2 sh**s about that. Dont get me wrong, the dude is gonna be an All-Star someday but it almost seems like Uggla has been the Marlins that the national media has been talking about (even though he is slumping)
September 23, 200619 yr if Hanley gets to 50 doubles, to go along with his 50 stolen bases, I think that might win it for him
September 23, 200619 yr if Hanley gets to 50 doubles, to go along with his 50 stolen bases, I think that might win it for him How many doubles does he have now?

September 23, 200619 yr If the season ended today Hanley should win it but Uggla would win it. Willingham would have won it had he stayed healthy. The injury killed his chances.
September 23, 200619 yr Over 100 runs, 50 steals, 14 HR's. I'd still give it to Uggla, but Hanley's got a strong shot at stealing it.
September 23, 200619 yr If Hanley keeps riding this hot streak through the end of the season and Uggla keeps on slumping, he could very well end up being the Marlins best ROTY candidate. I just wish JJ was still in this coversation. Without that injury, he would have had a chance at notching 15 wins and lowering his ERA to a sub-3 mark.
September 23, 200619 yr Oh, also, according to Rob Neyer's article...Hanley Ramirez has the highest VORP among ML rookies, almost double that of Ryan Zimmerman.
September 23, 200619 yr Amongst the Marlins, I'd have to give it to Uggla. He made the All-Star Game and he broke Joe Gordon's all time record. Hanley seems to have the greatest potential but Uggla has gotten the national exposure. JJ, Olsen, Anibal, should really get at as a threesome  if that was possible. . . But for those that follow these things better than I....aren't there some rookies from other teams that are in the running. The Marlins have so many deserving rookies, but they usually get shafted in these votes.
September 23, 200619 yr This is Uggla's award. I'd say zimmerman's in second place. followed by Hanley
September 24, 200619 yr if Hanley gets to 50 doubles, to go along with his 50 stolen bases, I think that might win it for him Only happened twice all time 1912 Tris Speaker 53/52 1998 Craig Biggio 51/50
