Well, it's getting to be that time of year again. Last season I dropped the eighty dollars on a full season of MLB.tv and it was one of the most worthwhile things I've done - living in the Mid-Atlantic, it is very difficult to catch a Marlins game on cable.

One thing is, during the offseason, I purchased a MacBook and now I'm not sure if I'll be able to use MLB.tv on it. Does anybody have any experience with this matter? What kind of problems did you encounter, and how did you fix them?

I know you fellow Mac users out there can help me. :thumbup

Yup! MLB.tv is the sh*t! I have a Mac and it worked fine for me.. Your going to have to run it through Quicktime.. You have to run thr URL through Quicktime though. If you go through safari and through the main MLB page it wont work...

As far as FULL screen, i had trouble with it using quicktime but you have to go in your preferences and set up the double click full screen option..

As far as that dude it runs fine for me!

MLB.tv should be your Marlins fix up in Virginia for most games, of course when the Fish play the Nats or O's....MASN has the game for you. Does Cox Cable in Hampton Roads carry MASN? I thought it was only Fairfax.

I use an ancient iBook running Mac OS X and Safari, the Gameday Audio worked well for me. I really didn't try MLB.tv on it though.

I have OSX Panther with an iBook, if you search through the forums, I started a topic informing everyone how to get full screen to work on a mac with WMP9. Mosaic now works with Tiger, and you can download it for free on the MLB.com website.

I will need to get WMP software somehow...

You dont have to, it can be run through quicktime.... No sense in putting a Windows based program on a Mac when you already have a program that will work... But I guess thats just me saving HD space

MacTopia offers WMP9 for Macs.

Downloaded the file but for some reason the program Quicktime keeps opening it instead of StuffIt Expander. I'm having problems remedying this.

I think I got it

Ok so WMP9 is now on my computer :thumbup

Thanks for the help!

I'm looking forward to watching the Marlins on my MacBook.

This is all unnecessary.

Download flip4mac and quicktime plays wmv videos. You can now watch it directly on the site like everyone else.

The advice you were given will work but was way more then what you needed to do.

I wanted to but I got the impression it costs money.

i'm gonna get this so i can keep up with the d-backs this season. i'm moving to arizona in the fall. :cool

the picture is allways fuzzy, and I absolutly hate the saturday fox blackouts....but other then that the MLB.tv is great !!! especially for me since I'm in cleveland ...

I love MLB.TV.. though I have like 6 teams blacked out in my area. Not a big deal though.. Brewers and Cardinals games are usually unavailable. Sometimes Card games are on WB or whatever channel that is. Cubs can be seen on WGN and CSN though. White Sox, Royals and Twins we never play.

supposedly the resolution is going to be at more than twice what it was last year and now you can customize the 6 games you can watch on mosaic.

What do they charge for mosaic?

Very nice....I felt like the resolution was improved a lot last year too...love MLB.tv

The 6 games thing never worked that well for me. Maybe with some improvements it'll be better

Once your a subscirber to MLB.tv it comes with it... nothing extra

Does anyone know if the blackouts are subject to reason (Saturday games included?) I suppose I'll be buying this either way but it would be great if I could watch the Saturday day games here in the evening and if they're always blocked out, that's a bit of a deterent. Is there a way around the Saturday blackouts since I'm not living in the States?

you could allways watch the game afterwords though, or any game again for that matter....i'm pretty sure there still going to blackout saturday games till 7:00

HelmsE, I can watch ALL Marlins/MLB games no matter what times, I would assume that you will be the same if watching outside of North America/Japan. The blackout restrictions shouldn't apply in Bulgaria as they don't in the UK. The Fox Saturday games are always on, as I think are the ESPN Sunday Night games - I don't watch these anyway as it is on terrestrial tv over here and can watch digitally.

It will depend if your credit card is registered in the US, if it is, they won't let you watch the blacked out games, if it is registered in Bulgaria, you will be fine.
