June 18, 200719 yr At sportsline.com, it said that Reggie got sent down for Carroll coming in. I think its wrong though.
June 18, 200719 yr Abercrombie optioned: To make room for Johnson, who will be reinstated on Monday, center fielder Reggie Abercrombie was optioned to Triple-A Albuquerque after Sunday's game. Abercrombie had been used in a platoon situation in center field with Alfredo Amezaga. But with Carroll being brought up on Sunday, Abercrombie's playing time was about to be reduced even more. http://florida.marlins.mlb.com/news/articl...sp&c_id=fla
June 18, 200719 yr Yea Reggie looks like a Career Minor Leaguer. He doesn't belong anywhere near an MLB team.
June 18, 200719 yr Is JJ on a pitch count tonight??? Good question. I would imagine he is, but I cannot find any confirmation anywhere. If I had to guess, I'd say he would probably be on a 90 pitch max pitch count. Many people here seem to believe JJ will just come back and be the stopper of old on day one. I'm not sure if that'll happen right off, but his rehab starts have been encouraging. Either way, I'm not expecting him to go deep into this game unless he gets a lot of quick innings.
June 18, 200719 yr Author Thanks for the answer, guys! :thumbup I've been getting killed at work and haven't had time to search for stuff like this.
June 18, 200719 yr Am I reading this wrong from today's offical game notes? ROSTER MOVES: The Marlins today reinstated RHP Josh Johnson from the DL, and returned him from his rehab assignment with Carolina (AA). RHP Lee Gardner was optioned to Albuquerque (AAA). http://presspass.mlb.com/pp_viewer.asp?d=34722

No, but what Jon's talking about is that we've sent down 3 players (Vandy, Reggie, Gardner) to get two back (Carrol, JJ). I assume Gardner's demotion is a misprint and he will be the one to go when Jacobs comes back next week.
June 18, 200719 yr lee gardner was sent down when JJ was activated and reggie is back on the roster!!!
June 18, 200719 yr lee gardner was sent down when JJ was activated and reggie is back on the roster!!! Gardner hasn't been doing so great either. I would've kept him over Reggie, though.

June 19, 200719 yr Well that just blows! Why cant we send down both Gardner and REGGIE! Its the smarter move.
June 21, 200719 yr Just as an aside to an article about Miggy's weight problem... Abercrombie's U-TURN Outfielder Reggie Abercrombie was back with the Marlins after the team changed its mind before officially optioning him to Triple-A. Reliever Lee Gardner was demoted instead. Abercrombie flew from Kansas City to Albuquerque before receiving a call Sunday night from Assistant General Manager Michael Hill telling him to meet the team in Chicago. Abercrombie caught an 8 a.m. flight and reached U.S. Cellular Field around 2:30 p.m. Monday. http://www.sun-sentinel.com/sports/basebal...la-sports-front
