Tejada to Houston

Orioles get Luke Scott, pitchers Matt Albers, Troy Patton and Dennis Sarfate, and third baseman Michael Costanzo.

I think the Orioles win this deal, unless Tejada's production drastically increases.

Albers and Patton both have a good amount of upside, and Scott is pretty good.

I love Patton

What used to be an offensive powerhouse with bad pitchers going to look like a weak hitting team w/ a rotation someday like

Bedard

Guthrie

Patton

Liz

Olson

Thank god the Orioles went out and got young talent instead of Everret and Burnes. Good deal for the O's, which is rare nowadays.

except that Bedard is going to be gone sooner than later

A bunch of bleh players the Orioles got back

I think Costanzo is the key... Patton is a 4/5 starter, Albers could be ok, Scott is nothing

will be interesting to see if Miggy can take advantage of Minute Maid

Yes, the important part is dumping salary and getting Tejada out of the clubhouse. The O's also managed to trade him before the Mitchell Report comes out tomorrow....

Bah, I'm going to miss Everett at short. Sure, he was sh*tty on offense, but he is one of the, if not the, best defensive shortstops in the game. Also, I feel a little attached to Luke, but whatever.

Albers is terrible...

Good trade for Houston, Patton seemed to forget how to strike people out last season.

Patton will be solid.

Clear house Orioles. Trade everyone - Bedard, D. Cabrera, Mora, Huff, Roberts, Payton, Walker, Bradford, Ramon, Gibbons.

Build around Markakis/Wieters/Guthrie/Patton/Ray, all your other young P, and all the stuff you get from the dump. You can do it. FA 2009 is huge, you can get CC or Dunn or another 5 awesome relatively young players. You can rebound quickly if you have half a brain!

Trade that needed to be made.

I know nothing about the players the Orioles got back but Tejada serves no purpose on that team at this point while they are 5-6 years from even sniffing competitiveness again.

Ed Wade Sell of the Farm and Gets Fleeced again in a deal.

So glad he isn't the Phillies GM anymore.
