December 27, 200718 yr http://www.cnn.com/2007/WORLD/asiapcf/12/2...arif/index.html The terrorists seek martyrdom. And yet, they have made a martyr among their enemies.
December 27, 200718 yr Sadly, this wasn't even a question of "if," but "when." You can't rationalize what goes through these people's minds.
December 27, 200718 yr Author Sadly, this wasn't even a question of "if," but "when." Unfortunately, I have to agree. And a lot of people share that sentiment, too. On CBS they just had a guy that said he was surprised it took this long.
December 27, 200718 yr That's awful. Obviously there was always an element of showmanship with her, but she seemed like a genuine agent for change in that country. Huge blow to Pakistan's hopes for genuine democracy.
December 27, 200718 yr Pakistani Parliamentary Elections in 10 days. Bhutto's Party is expected to kick the angle-side-side of Musharruf's Party....so the people will still be voting for their members of Parliament, but Bhutto's Party must see someone fill that vacuum of power.
December 27, 200718 yr She came to Packistan knowing this would happen, but wanted a better Packistan. You have to admire that
December 27, 200718 yr I was disappointed to hear this, but not that surprised. She was in a lot of danger by staying in Pakistan.
December 27, 200718 yr Terrible news. There were metal detectors and searches being done apparently, so clearly the guy had an insider help him. That country is so unstable right now.

December 27, 200718 yr Author http://blogs.abcnews.com/theblotter/2007/1...hecking-al.html al-Qaeda may be claiming the attack.
December 27, 200718 yr Terrible news. There were metal detectors and searches being done apparently, so clearly the guy had an insider help him. That country is so unstable right now. What country where there are islamic extremists isn't unstable. It is their plan, to create fear and instability everywhere and deaths to innocents, because anyone who does not agree with their sickness is not an innocent, but a justifiable target.
December 27, 200718 yr Terrible tragedy that completely undermines democracy. I hope voters rally around this and her party wins a crushing victory in the election.
December 28, 200718 yr http://blogs.abcnews.com/theblotter/2007/1...hecking-al.html al-Qaeda may be claiming the attack. No doubt it was probably al-Qaeda.
December 28, 200718 yr http://blogs.abcnews.com/theblotter/2007/1...hecking-al.html al-Qaeda may be claiming the attack. No doubt it was probably al-Qaeda. I would think so. It would be political suicide for Musharraf to involve himself in that.
December 28, 200718 yr This was supposed to be the 1/6/08 cover. And she was right. Out of respect to her, they should still run the cover but put the years of birth to death underneath.

December 28, 200718 yr How far has Pakistan fallen that Bhutto was the face of democracy there? She was a crook as well as a tyrant in the making, and now as a martyr she gets a free pass from the west, but will gain no such treatment in South Asia. Musharraf is going to get blamed regardless, either for doing the deed (which I doubt he did since it is political madness) or not providing enough security (which no matter how much was provided, it can't stand up to the result). The next 2 weeks will say a lot. If Musharraf holds the elections anyhow, he will face huge protests. If he cancels or delays the elections, he will face huge protests, and likely riots. If he declares a state of emergency there may be active insurrection. Regardless, Pakistan is f***ed for at least a while.

The man that made it impossible to be dismissed from office, making himself a dictator? The man that invaded India in the Kargil War? The man that paid Bin Laden to topple the PKK government? He's the new face of Democracy? He's worse than Bhutto.
December 29, 200718 yr :banghead Jeez, we support Musharraf's overthrow of a democratically elected government, send him 10 billion dollars, then we get mad that he intends on staying a dictator so we pressure him to let Bhutto (who herself is no angel) out of exhile and allow elections, she gets killed (likely by Pakistani ISI) and now there's talk that there will be "spillover" into Afghanistan, jeopardizing our fight against terrorism. Oh, billions of dollars, is there no dispute you can't settle?* http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w8MOU_-anw8 http://www.crooksandliars.com/Media/Downlo...rica-Rescue.wmv *Try most international problems. Let's get our noses where they belong...back home.
