how come he never got any playing time while Redmond struggled as the backup?

Repeat: Redmond always started over Castro because he has good bat control. Why do you think he always hit third in the order whenever he was in? They always had the option to hit-and-run whenever Juan or Luis were on, and he was up. repeat: the man was struggling. that goes over f***ing good bat control

If you're a "professional hitter" such as Redmond, and you have the bat control he does, you can't hit a ground ball to second base?

Please.

if the man is struggling why not give Castro a chance?

had no confidence in him

Does Castro have his bat control?

And this is before Conine, so there is nobody else in our line-up with bat control as good as Redmond at the time.

It's not that he has no confidence in him, it's because he's a pull-hitter.

again, the man was f***ing struggling. why not give the man a couple of starts? see what he can do?

had no confidence in him

nevermind, Redmond had great bat control so despite his low avg. he sould be there instead of Castro who hasnt gotten a shot.

yeah, they love Castro

Do you remember a series in Atlanta? Redmond got two of the starts, both day games.

His average then was around . 230, but he got the starts in the 3-hole anyway. Why? Because if you're a professional hitter, slump or no slump, you can hit a ground ball to second base.

In those two starts, Mike had 3 or 4 base hits on hit-and-runs. That was Jack's objective. That was his gameplan. Castro just doesn't fit the hit-and-run description. NOW, if it's an extra-base hit Jack wants, who do you think he's going to turn to: Redmond or Castro?

Does he have confidence in Ramon in a hit-and-run situation? Probably not.

Does he have confidence in Ramon when the pitchers spot is up to bat with a man on second and no outs? Most definately.

so despite not having great bat control he's going to be great?

gotta love how i got you to fall in my trap

Exactly, because a ground ball toward second base is what he wants, not a deep fly to left field.

I mean, would you rather have men on third and first with no outs (the hit-and-run situation if redmond succeeds) or a man on second with one out (the sac fly situation if Castro succeeds).

so despite not having great bat control he's going to be great?

Does Mike Lowell have great bat control? :banghead

02pac,

you just have to learn that Wild Card is ALWAYS correct...

* gets hit by lightning *

but the man can hit!!!!!!

ok then, take his a** out of the lineup. dont resign him like you want. so if somebody can hit but dont have great bat control they shouldnt be in the lineup?

gotta love how i got you to fall in my trap :D

yeah

*mummbles under his breath "little know it all prick"*

If that's not what you're looking for, than they shouldn't be.

McKeon was not looking to sac fly, he was looking to hit-and-run. THAT is why Redmond was in the line-up, and it's definately why he was batting third.

this kid deserves a swirly like nobodies business...

Because I'm young, I'm wrong?

Sorry, but just because I'm younger doesn't mean my points and opinions aren't valid. Especially if they make sense.

so there are times you dont look for a good hitter?

how desperate are you win this?

are you on something?

damn and i though 02pac was high...

who cares alright who f'n cares...

so there are times you dont look for a good hitter?

I just said, when Jack wants to drive in a run, or when he wants an extra-base hit, Castro is the one he turns to.

BUT, when he wants a hit-and-run, Redmond is who he turns to.

I mean, some hitters just do things better than others. it's that simple. You use different guys for different situations.

so this is the man your going to use as your starter next year?

so you have no confidence in the man to get a sac fly and he's your starter.

i thought that if you were a pro hitter you should be able to do these things

this is why Beinfest is our GM and Jack is the manager... Pudge Stays!

so you have no confidence in the man to get a sac fly and he's your starter.

You either misunderstood me, or you're messing with me.

I said if I needed someone to get me a sac fly, it's Castro.

If I need a dround ball to second base, I go with Redmond.
