October 25, 200322 yr he was the 3rd catcher for God's sake. And he'd be the starting catcher for about 15 other teams. Probably more. And he's gotta be pretty good, seeing that the Padres were willing to trade their All-Star outfielder for him. yeah because he's a "prospect" a "prosepect" that put up big #'s in the minors and now in the bigs they never use him even though he's been on the roster for 2 full years. dont you think there has to be something the Marlins know that we dont or the Padres dont? and out of nowhere he gets charged with rape, thats not something we should be concerned about in the future :thumbup
October 25, 200322 yr dont you think there has to be something the Marlins know that we dont or the Padres dont? Don't you think the Padres would find out everything they needed to know before trading Rondell White for a back-up catcher?
October 25, 200322 yr how much can you findout without actually having the man in your organization... unless he does some dumbass s*** that makes the news and could cost his future.
October 25, 200322 yr how much can you findout without actually having the man in your organization... unless he does some dumbass s*** that makes the news and could cost his future. The Reds found out and seemed pretty concerned about MRI's from three years ago... They must have scouted Castro and seen what he can do before offering that trade.
October 25, 200322 yr and your innocent little mind seems to want to completely ignore the fact that the man is facing charges
October 25, 200322 yr and your innocent little mind seems to want to completely ignore the fact that the man is facing charges Do you really think he'll face jail time? Honestly...
October 25, 200322 yr and out of nowhere he gets charged with rape, thats not something we should be concerned about in the future :thumbup The Lakers don't seem to be too concerned with their employees rape charges.
October 25, 200322 yr i dont mean injuries, thats pretty easy to findout considering they must pass physicals. all they can go by are injuries and what scouts tell them. we have him, that means we have access to all that they know him, his attitude, his work habits, everything.
October 25, 200322 yr and out of nowhere he gets charged with rape, thats not something we should be concerned about in the future :thumbup The Lakers don't seem to be too concerned with their employees rape charges. My point exactly...
October 25, 200322 yr and your innocent little mind seems to want to completely ignore the fact that the man is facing charges Do you really think he'll face jail time? Honestly... i dont know if you realize this but he aint OJ or Kobe, nobody outside Marlin fans or non-casual baseball fans know who this guy is. might get a little news coverage. so just take the chance? oh he's a ball player and she's just a whore, she was aksing for it, he wont get convicted. have you seen any evidence? heard testimony? what if he gets a jury thats very sympathetic to the "victim" what if he gets a jury thats tired of atheletes thinking they can get all the sex they want even if he's married?
October 25, 200322 yr his attitude, his work habits, everything. His attitude doesn't seem to be bringing down the clubhouse. Not only that, but teamates say that he's one of the best (nicest) guys on the team.
October 25, 200322 yr did i only specify attitude? I'm not going to say anything about work ethic ect., because I don't know about it, and neither do you.
October 25, 200322 yr did i only specify attitude? I'm not going to say anything about work ethic ect., because I don't know about it, and neither do you. exactly
October 25, 200322 yr did i only specify attitude? I'm not going to say anything about work ethic ect., because I don't know about it, and neither do you. exactly You don't think a scout talked to him? You don't think they might have watched him in practice, BP, ect?
October 25, 200322 yr Not only that, but teamates say that he's one of the best (nicest) guys on the team. Isn't that what everyone says after someone being accused of doing something bad...
October 25, 200322 yr Not only that, but teamates say that he's one of the best (nicest) guys on the team. Isn't that what everyone says after someone being accused of doing something bad... Nobody forced them to say anything.
October 25, 200322 yr yeah of course. let opposing scouts or front office men talk to our ballplayers who are under contract. and if they get permission, of course you would give the honest answers even if they keep you in a place where your getting no playing time.
October 25, 200322 yr I'm done with this. It has been beaten to death. I guess I'll have to wait 'till April, 2004 to be proved right.
October 25, 200322 yr Not only that, but teamates say that he's one of the best (nicest) guys on the team. Isn't that what everyone says after someone being accused of doing something bad... Nobody forced them to say anything. I mean, I always hear the same thing.. For example, when you're watching the news: "Reporter: The guy who murdered 30 people, who was he? Was he a nice man? Old Woman: Oh! He was the nicest man in this neighborhood! He always had a smile! He even brought me cookies one day"
October 25, 200322 yr There is a "knock" out there on Castro regarding certain types of pitchers and types of pitches. I've read it or seen it referred to any number of times but I honestly don't remember what it is, righties or lefties, curves or breaking balls, I guess I could go research it but I'm pretty sure the story is he has a particular weakness that is well known to scouts, managers and players and is exploitable over a 162 game season. That's why he's the number 3 catcher.
