WBC protesting at Heath Ledger's funeral

Featured Replies

I was going to post a news link, but I found this in a friend's blog. It says it all.

Doesn't God teach not to assume His wrath, either?

I suspected some nut jobs would take this spin and run with it.

What a shame for his family.

Those people at WBC are nuts.

They act as if God hates just homosexuality.

He hates adultery, idolatry, murderers, stealing. he that sows discord among the brethren, a proud look etc.

God hates sin in general.

Speaking of which, here's a classy response by Fox News' John Gibson on his radio show:

Very nice. :|

Not to be outdone, "gossip reporter" Courtney Hazlett, who writes "The Scoop" column for MSNBC.com and regularly appears on air, remarked, "In a lot of ways, this reminds me ? we've almost had a dress rehearsal for this with Owen Wilson."

High marks all around.

I have a friend that lives in Plattsburgh, New York, that has an eyewitness account of the Westboro Baptist Church... and a plan on how to really deal with them.

The issue is that when we fight back somehow that isn't quite legal, i.e. what they do, they sue for harassment and get the money back. its their tactic. they came to our area up here and protested our openly gay (republican) mayor during Mayor's Cup (Basically a week long event celebrating our area and its history.)

If we had denied them, they would have sued.

If we had attacked them, they would have sued.

If we sneezed in their general direction, they would have sued.

I hope you see the picture.

So what did we do that pissed them off more than anything? We welcomed them, gave them their protesting booth, even offered them a discount at our local motel due to the high volume of followers that booked there, and started a Stop Hate campaign. We distributed stickers everywhere, did nothing to oppose them and basically showed that we were far better than them. It was amusing that in the entire area, there was ONE supporter, and he moved shortly after learning that his name was printed in the local paper as the ONLY supporter. they left early after learning that they couldn't get us to attack or do something they could sue us for.

its basically a scam in the name of God. they give lawyers, religion, and America a bad name. they do it as their sole source of income. they go out, piss people off, eventually someone can't take it and fights back, then they sue for damages in a court that eats out of their hand.

If it were possible to sue them into oblivion, i think we would have done so already. the problem is that they make DAMN sure that everyone knows that what they are doing is an act of "Free Speech" so if we do anything to stop them, try to play the "We have free speech too", or point out one of the conditions of "free speech" is that it isn't slanderous or Libel they throw a sh*t fit and sue.

What if we all decided, starting right now ... that the color of our skins' didn't matter?

or religion?

or nationality?

or ideology?

or sexual orientation?

What if we stopped being afraid?

Think about it for a minute ... maybe it wouldn't be that hard to live in peace?

Maybe it's just that simple.

God Hates Australia? :mischief

Oh yeah, Thank you WBC for giving us good baptist out there a bad name.

One of the things God hates most is the sowing of discord among the brethren.

If ruining a whole denomination's name isn't sowing discord, I dunno what is.

Someone ought to go picket one of their Sunday Morning services.
