May 28, 200818 yr Wow, looking good. I see tons of potential there . Where are the parking garages going to be?
May 28, 200818 yr If we have a design, why can't we break ground sooner? It looks like the land is cleared and ready. Can't they prep the land without an official final blue print anyways?
May 28, 200818 yr Well, I believe I read somewhere that there's about another week before they announce where on the land the stadium would be built, and facing what direction.
May 31, 200818 yr Are they preserving the east endzone and the scoreboard? It looks like it's still intact.

May 31, 200818 yr Does anyone know what will be done with thos vacant lots just North of the site? Will the baseball field be part of the project? What are those buildings where the school buses are parked? The area has some real potential for development. If this is done right...it will be a real destination for all baseball fans. :thumbup
June 1, 200818 yr I think they should move the scoreboard to the outer entrance of the grounds and use as a messageboard (similar to what the Angels did with the BIG A scoreboard in Anaheim)....
June 4, 200818 yr Anyone for flag football? We have a big, empty field that we can use. :mischief They could turf the hole over and build a cricket/Aussie football ground like they did in Lauderhill. :mischief
June 5, 200818 yr Don't know about the east end zone but they do wanna preserve the scoreboard. I thought the scoreboard was going to be transferred to another park in the City of Miami for use there.

The area north of the OB lot is developed (that's where I've parked for UM games). I'm sure there will redevelopment in that area and wouldn't be surprised to see one of the garages there.

I thought the scoreboard was going to be transferred to another park in the City of Miami for use there. The May 19th Article on the stadium The last indicator that football was played at the Orange Bowl is the scoreboard. In time, that too will be removed, but the team plans on preserving a piece of that board. "The sign that is on top of the scoreboard, that says, Orange Bowl, the team is going to save," Samson said. "We're going to incorporate that into the new building. We don't know how yet, but we recognize the historical importance of that site. We're going to combine that with the history of the Marlins, and our two World Series titles. We're going to have some sort of homage to that." As for the scoreboard itself, efforts are being made to see if it can be recycled and used by another school.
June 5, 200818 yr We should all meet there with shovels in hand and begin the groundbreaking ourselves.
