Hermida could but he also is very shaky on defense.. Gonzo needs some days off when Hammer gets back anyway...

Also, he has improved quite a bit this year. Anyhow it is just an idea, I am thinking mostly of the offensive gains, I do not think he would be a complete disaster in CF. Whatever.

May 14, 200818 yr being day-to-day doesn't mean he'll necessarily be back quickly. It means they take it day by day. He's still day-to-day
May 14, 200818 yr Jake has now hit two balls in two days about as deep as you can without them being out. His quad may not be ready but his bat is that close to returning to the lineup.
May 14, 200818 yr Once we can get both Willingham and Jake back in the lineup, we'll be looking at something like this: 1. Amezega/Ross 2. Hermida 3. Hanley 4. Jacobs 5. Uggla 6. Willingham 7. Cantu 8. Rabelo/Treanor Considering we won 7 in a row, without either of those guys, its encouraging when you look at the lineup with them in it. Willingham/Cantu/Treanor/Rabelo = production out of the bottom of the order. Then you think of the kind of power you're getting from the 3-5 spots....

You know I saw this and my immediate response was my jaw hitting the floor but when I picked myself I realized this has to be one of the funniest things I've ever read here. He may not get to as many balls as Amezaga but you are acting like putting him out there would be a total disaster. You're talking Willingham in center at the cavernous Dolphin Stadium? The former catcher Josh Willingham? The one with the bad back?
May 18, 200818 yr Jake is back! He made his bat do the the talking. We missed him badly. Not only did he get a triple and a homerun but he allowed for Helms to be available off the bench as a pinch hitter (He happened to hit another homer as a ph) We were lacking a real option off the bench to pinch hit in tight games. Our lineup has improved and our team is much deeper. I know they are many Jake haters but he is a stud with the bat. Most of us actually don't understand what he means to our lineup, hopefully we have a better understanding now
