Kopitar better be a 1st line forward. i'd deal bouwmeester for kopitar in a split second. he's 20 years old and scored 32 goals and 77 pts. and he's not even close to finished developing. he's almost a lock to be a 100+ point guy. he's that skilled, imo. i doubt LA deals him. even for jay.

I've also heard Bouwmeester to Philly for Carter, Jones, and a 1st. I'd hope Martin would accept both of those deals, btw.

July 20, 200818 yr Dumb Question considering that I play hockey and love the panthers- Why the hell are we entertaining trading Bouw? Is there a riff or something or are we in a rebuilding phase. I havent seen the team do anything all offsason to improve, so I am assuming we are rebuilding. BTW- the blurbs in the herald suck!

But this trade seems to make sense. LA needs a puck moving defensman and the Cats need scoring. Both players are rumored to be bieng shopped around by their teams. I think it would take Bowmeester and some more talent to pry Kopitar from LA though.

It's b/c he's a free agent after this year, and he's shown ZERO interest in staying. It's better to trade him, and get some value, instead of losing him for nothing.

Bouw is high talent, but with his future clearly not here in Florida I would grab that deal and laugh as well.
