A-hole of the game

Featured Replies

I think a lot of people share the A hole title in this game. Especially Nelson, he was sooo close to getting out of the bases-loaded, nobody out jam and then got so afraid to pitch to contact. The ball 4 call was questionable though...but then another walk after he had already ruined Ollie's chance at a W.

Jacobs, even though he got the force at home, was kind of an A hole for botching the play earlier in the inning to load the bases. Pinto was totally screwed there on those three "hits." I still consider Pinto the most reliable in the bullpen, even if his ERA has ballooned a bit in the last month (still under 3).

But seriously...Iwamura to deep left? He had such a short swing. He's awesome.

I wouldn't blame Pinto TOO much. I mean sure, he let 3 get on base, but it was crappy little hits on good pitches. I voted for the ump, because all of a sudden his large strike zone shrunk to the size of a peanut. Joe Nelson had a couple really close pitches called balls that would have ended the inning, without allowing a run, or even ending it tied still. Justin Miller wasn't a big confidence boost either allowing 2 runs in the 9th.

Jacobs also tried to pull an outside pitch, and ended the game.

Agreed. Every post about this being Jacobs fault I agree with. :thumbdown Jacobs :thumbdown is the A-Hole of the season.

I'm not going that far. But I will say this is most likely the last season Jake is in the Teal. His defense just isn't improving well enough. When you build a team on pitching and defense then... Beinfest was quoted the other day saying if the D dosen't improve there will be some changes made. Jake looks to be the first "casualty" just going by overall performance and learning curve.

The first thing is to blame the umpire, we should take a look at first two batters singles, 3-4-5 batters nothing, inning over,
