June 25, 200818 yr A-Hole of the game was "Fate"...or destiny... Besides the screwups of Nelson, Pinto, Jacobs, Fredi, Miller, or WHOEVER..."FATE" was cruel tonight because FATE should have given us a Josh Willingham WALK OFF GRANDSLAM in the bottom of the 9th...it was setup perfectly and I was ready to have it happen...but it didnt... ...Imagine if THAT did happen though...God bless the Hammer... i know what you mean i was waitin for it to happen, but it didn't. but if he did hit a grandslam that wouldve been a hell of a way to come of the DL. Just thought off a new asshole of the game EVAN LONGORIA the bastard had the go ahead double nd robbed the hammer of a basehit which could hav changed the game

Weird game.

June 25, 200818 yr Author Not Nelson? I mean, He couldn't throw strikes. Or Fredi? Who couldn't think of anything to do when Nelson couldn't throw strikes. This is true, but Nelson came in with a bases loaded and nobody out situation that would rattle any pitcher and he nearly got out of it. Everyone already knows that Fredi sucks so w/e. Wow...that's hypocritical. You're blaming Pinto...who did nothing wrong. Yet, you don't blame Nelson as much b/c "he almost got out of it." "He almost got out of it" b/c unlike with Pinto, the Marlins actually made 2 very nice defensive plays, for Nelson. Nelson fell behind every hitter he faced, 3-1. Meanwhile, Pinto actually comes in and throws strikes, for once, and we blame him b/c of a crappy hit through the hole, a fortunate bunt by the Rays, and a miscue by Jacobs. That's ridiculous. Nelson wasn't marvelous either, but he came in with the bases loaded and nobody out. Usually when that happens you see a run score on the very next pitch with a deep fly ball or a hit and he was able to get the first two outs even if he wasn't throwing very well and nearly got the third out on what looked like strike 3.
June 25, 200818 yr Now the marlins are only 4 games over .500.They have been gradually declining ever since the Philly and New York series in late May.
June 25, 200818 yr Now the marlins are only 4 games over .500.They have been gradually declining ever since the Philly and New York series in late May. ...and yet, they're only 1.5 games back of the division. ...and the "Great" Mets and Braves are UNDER .500. What is your pessimistic point? Are you gonna say you don't believe, again?
June 25, 200818 yr Now the marlins are only 4 games over .500.They have been gradually declining ever since the Philly and New York series in late May. dont worry everything will be fine. we'll get JJ and sanchez back in about a month and then we'll run away with the division.

What is your pessimistic point? Are you gonna say you don't believe, again? We were 10 games over .500 in late May.That would be a gradual decline. Our bullpen and team has not been as good as it was earlier in the year.

June 25, 200818 yr The Rays have stayed hot while the Marlins have cooled off. Thanks for stating the obvious. Then again, the Rays have nothing to do with the Marlins, in the grand scheme of things. So...good for the Rays. They are finally relevant.

The Rays have alot in common with the Marlins. The big debate has been which of those two teams are foreal and most likely to remain contenders till the end.
June 25, 200818 yr Hey guys. Tonight, Phillis losing again against A's It's gonna be 6-game losing streak.

So...good for the Rays. They are finally relevant. The Rays have alot in common with the Marlins. The big debate has been which of those two teams are foreal and most likely to remain contenders till the end. oh...yeah...the ESPN "experts." Sorry...I don't listen to those guys anymore. What they say is usually a bunch of crap, anyways. If what they said was true...the Mets would be in 1st place, the Mariners would be in 1st place, the Tigers would be getting ready to order their rings (btw, Rodney and Zumaya are doing well, eh?) and the Yankees would definitely be ahead of the Rays. I thought the Rays were better to begin with...more pitching and better defense usually (logically) is better to have than power hitting. Regardless, I could, personally, care less about the Rays, and the "rivalry" or shall I say...non-rivalry...we have with them.
June 25, 200818 yr Not Nelson? I mean, He couldn't throw strikes. Or Fredi? Who couldn't think of anything to do when Nelson couldn't throw strikes. He threw some great pitches to Navarro and got squeezed.

We are 9-13 so far in June.
June 25, 200818 yr All of the above? Another bullpen meltdown. I'm sick of this crap. And, Olsen should have stayed in the game. He only had... what... 86 pitches? When will this pen learn to hold a freaking lead? Ahhh :banghead

So...good for the Rays. They are finally relevant. The Rays are the ugly step-sisters that we look down on because we are the mean big brother who has all the right in the world to pick on them based on their pathetic past and our two world series we can flaunt at anytime. Sort of like the city of Tampa Bay compared to South Florida. :lol jk Tampa people.
June 25, 200818 yr Now the marlins are only 4 games over .500.They have been gradually declining ever since the Philly and New York series in late May. dont worry everything will be fine. we'll get JJ and sanchez back in about a month and then we'll run away with the division. You can't honestly think JJ and Anibal are going to come back off major surgery and throw like they did before they were hurt. They will still need some ML time to get it together. Same with Mitre. And 3 SPs coming back off the DL will not fix the mental errors on the field or at the plate. Time and experience fixes those problems. You can't honestly think the losing streak of the Phillies is going to continue through the rest of the season. Or that the Cubs and/or the Cards are suddenly going to fold.
June 25, 200818 yr Pinto actually did not pitch badly, but his lack of concentration cost us the game. A soft ground ball that found a hole, a bunt that somehow did not roll foul, and a chopper to first. That is good pitching. Where he messed up was when he DID NOT COVER FIRST BASE on the grounder to the right side. Jacobs fielded the ball cleanly about ten feet off the base, looked to second base to see if he could get the out there but correctly decided to not risk it and get the sure out at first. When he looked around to flip the ball to the pitcher covering first base, Pinto was nowhere to be found. The runner had beaten Pinto to the bag by about 5 steps. We lost the game on this play.
June 25, 200818 yr I blame Cantu for not making a better through home when the bases were loaded. Had his throw been alright, that might have been a double play and we may have gotten out of the inning without giving up any runs. Same thing wih Jacobs - he had the guy at second. Not sure what Jake was thinking.
June 25, 200818 yr Blue had an awful game, there was a ridiculous called 3rd strike on Cantu with a man on early in the game that killed a rally and then he squeezes Nelson late. Thankfully the Phillies are struggling now...
