Marlins looking to deal Jacobs, Gregg and Ross?

Don't put much stock into this. You think we will trade one of the best relievers on this team, Kevin Gregg, while we are looking for relief help?

It's funny, not that I'm saying you were one of them, but it was less than a month ago after his disasterous stretch in Colorado, many people on this board were calling for Gregg's head. Now that he's settled down again, I don't see any posts abou how we need to get rid of him, and I bet you many of the same people who were wantign him released then are perfectly happy with him now...

We can't get rid of Cody! He's the best starting outfielder defensively(not counting Amezaga), and he really is a fan favorite.

Yea, he is. Anyone at the game yesterday heard the Cody, Cody chants. We cant trade him, and hes been hot for like a month

Why would anyone want to get rid of Gregg when he is doing good? That's how it goes you perform you are liked.... you don't and you need to be gone. Not so hard to understand....People didn't want him gone because he was an A-hole or a bad person (things that don't change) they wanted him gone because he wasn't getting it done, Fredi stuck with him and he is now OWNING sh*t...

Cause his trade value goes up when he is doing well?

But it completely defeats the purpose of trying to trade for relief help. Especially while he's doing so well. It make sense if the team wasn't in it, and were sellers, but when you're trying to win a division, it makes absolutely no sense at all.

We are not getting Fuentes...so who would we replace him with? I don't think the Marlins are looking for prospects....

I am just saying why they would do it, not that we should

I was looking for a place to post this and I guess this is as good as any (it really doesn't deserve a thread of its own).

Cameron Maybin was back in the lineup last night after three weeks on the DL. Means nothing to the 2008 Fish but just a heads up.

i am really starting to like jake and i think he is coming around, he could be very valuable to us and even gregg i always like him, i know he's gonna get the job done, even though i think matt is gonna take that closer's role from him one day, i wouldnt mind seeing gregg in the 8th. I really think we need a veteran catcher and thats that. I bet you they dont even get a reliever and there probaly gonna get pudge or molina!

We can't get rid of Cody! He's the best starting outfielder defensively(not counting Amezaga), and he really is a fan favorite.

Yea, he is. Anyone at the game yesterday heard the Cody, Cody chants. We cant trade him, and hes been hot for like a month

Trade Cody? Not if anyone in the front office values their safety. This is not the same as trading Miggy or Willis or anyone-this is CODY.

Speaking of Cody Ross...did anyone know he's 87?

Cody Joseph Ross (born December 23, 1920, in Portales, New Mexico), is an outfielder in Major League Baseball who plays for the Florida Marlins (2006-present). He was traded to the Marlins from the Reds for cash or a player to be named later. He previously played with the Detroit Tigers in 2003, as well as the Los Angeles Dodgers (2005-2006) and the Cincinnati Reds (2006). Ross played high school baseball in Carlsbad, New Mexico.

There's absolute no way Cody Ross will be traded. Cody will not be traded from this team until Maybin is lights out down there in AAA ball.

Jacobs is a streaky fag. Trade him after he makes some highlights.

yea he gets that every game which shows how the fans appreciate him from kids to adults and cody is a good guy down with with charitys and foundations along with gonzo

I would trade Gregg. He's one of the least likely players to return next year. Obviously, you would trade him for a BAT. He can net you something pretty darn good. And then you trade a guy like Jacobs for BULLPEN, helping to fill the hole left by Gregg. I don't see either of these guys coming back with the team, and its bad to not get value for them.

Obviously, they would have to be the right deals.

Trade Gregg J Miller and Maybe even Mitre

there all in there final year of there contract and also maybe trade gonzo because he might retire

Even Dino and fredo are on there last year but we have people to fill in for them I HOPE

We can't trade Gregg. We need him for our playoff push. We can't trade Cody. We need him in CF. We can't replace either one of these guys right now w/ the market being as it is.

We can, however, part w/ Jacobs w/ out disrupting the integrity of the team. Helms could easily replace Jacobs at first while at the same time us picking up either a reliever or a catcher.

I think the "and" in the title should be replaced with an "or" I doubt the Marlins deal out 3 players on a roster that is a winning ball club.
