Bay to Red Sox, Manny to the Dodgers

Featured Replies

Excellent news. The Dodgers wont win anything with the guy they have managing, but that is neither here nor there. This deal made absolutely no sense for the Marlins, as far as the game on the field goes, and would of hurt for a while. And the Pirates essentially just raped both the Dodgers and Red Sox, getting Andy LaRoche, Craig Hansen, and Brandon Moss(and someone else) for Jason Bay. Well done Bucs.

I know you all are going to hate me/throw fecal matter at me but Im glad we didnt get Manny. Because now if this isnt our year, next year still can be.

i dont really think the pirates did as good as they could have,

moss and hansen arent that good

Laroche is a great prospect,

and all i can find out about morris is that he had tommy john already.

wouldnt surprise me if the pirates get hosed once again.....

Moss is really good actually. He plays great when he gets good playing time.

Hansen has been up and down. I think if he finds consistency he will be good. It is hard to relax into a roll in boston maybe being in western PA will help him.

The biggest story of the deadline should be the deal that TB did not make. They will never be as close to a postseason berth as they are now yet everyone knows they need a legitimate bat in the middle of the order to keep things up. They have the excess prospects in their system to make a deal that works for the other team without ruining their future yet they felt the need to be stingy.

I think the Pirates got the best of the deal.

As for the Red Sox, they just traded Manny Ramirez, Brandon Moss, and Craig Hansen (a guy who a couple years ago they said would be their future closer) for Jason Bay. :confused

Also...the Dodgers backup outfielders are getting paid more than the Florida Marlins. That's just...sad for the Dodgers. :lol

Rather than just being stingy, maybe the Rays thought that letting the Red Sox go through with this deal would help them win the division. You've got to think the Red Sox are a weaker team after making this deal.
