August 3, 200817 yr what you guys think he's 1 for his last 15 or 16 ab's, He looks like hes trying way to hard and it looks like he's not having fun out there. Do you guys think pressure is geting to him or what, I dont know but we really need him, I hope he can get a few hits today with risp and take that momentum in to phillie B/c we need him Now!
August 3, 200817 yr He's 1 for his last 14 but that one was a two run homer. He's also walked twice and scored twice in that span. He's fine.
August 3, 200817 yr Author yeah he drawed a walk the night that guy was all over the place and he got hit by a pitch and another was 4 straight balls, so they aint great walks and he aint hiting the ball out of the infield, he's hiting into dp's. What i am saying is he's our best player and we cant have a lil miny slump here, especially not when we got the mets and phillies in back to back series. We need him right now! August 3, 200817 yr Hanley is slumping but if you look at his career he is a very streaky hitter so he might scuffle for a few more games but i expect he will break out of it soon
August 3, 200817 yr yea he is slumping....last super saturday i went to he was hitting around .300 .301 when i went yesterday he is hitting .294 i believe? so yes he is in a slump but hanley being hanley will prob break out

August 3, 200817 yr as a matter of fact i beleive hanley is not even having that great of a year. Yes his average is solid but its not as high as it used to be, rbi totals are down becuase hes batting like .190 with runners in scoring position, hes been caught stealing 10 times, and already has 19 errors. Dont get me wrong I love Hanley but there are several things he needs to fix. At this pace hell have like 35 homers and just 60 rbi.

I went through his gamelog at flamarlins.com. I said "I believe" because I didn't count twice. in fact (went back and checked) I did count it wrong. thanks for pointing that out. i started counting the runs column instead of hits column, he is batting .200 over his last 60 at bats.
August 3, 200817 yr i do think he is slumping but even if he gets out of this slump my real concern is his average w/ risp. he really needs to step up in that department. everytime he comes up in those situations he tends to SO. i think he puts too much pressure on himself. ever since he signed that contract i think he has tried to carry this team but has failed miserably.

Wow...you have somewhat of a point in the thread, but you're basing this on the month of August alone (2 games)?

August 3, 200817 yr hanley just looks completely lost. he looks lost at the plate, taking pitches that he can't believe are strikes, which means he's not seeing the ball well, he looks lost in the field, and when he's on base he looks lost as well.
