Post Game 8/28

Featured Replies

The Marlins aren't the real losers tonight, it the so-called fans here who have proclaimed they have given up on this team in August, August for god sakes.

Did the Mets fall teach you nothing from last season? Did the Rockies absolutely unbelievable come from behind run to the playoffs not sink in? No one can say where we'll finish but those of you who didn't get what you wanted for Christmas and wanna go pout or feel sorry for yourselves, be my guest.

There's a whole month of baseball left. Anything can happen.

Anything.

Neither the Mets nor the Phillies are significantly better teams than ours. We are all flawed in our own ways and after 130 games or so only six games separates the three of us. If you feel compelled to voice your confidence the season is over, I'm not sure why, but that's your right. I only hope to have the opportunity to watch you eat your words. Tonight three feet was the difference between a potentially different outcome and what resulted. McCann goes to right, Hanley goes to left (please tell me you didn't think like everyone at Turner Field that ball wasn't long gone when Hanley connected).

But that's the beauty and tragedy of baseball. And I'll say it again, this season is far from over. The Dodgers in '51, the Phillies losing ten in a row or the Red Sox and Bucky F'ing Dent or of course the Mets in 2007. The Cubs have collapsed so many times in so many ways there is a reason they have the reputation they do.

I'm not going to stand here and proclaim the Fish ultimate National League East winners at the end of September, that would be foolish. I can do the math. And by the of Sunday night it could be much worse or it could be a whole new beginning.

Tonight is not the night to give up on 2008.

Its my fault....im sorry guys.

i went to my gf's house and she doesnt have a cpu there...but wow what a day it was

i knew the fish were going to lose tonight without me.

ya lets just say we pretty much made our own little porno today.

god i love it when her parents leave and the brother goes out to do whatever it is that he does.

i really wanted to start the game thread but, cmon you know...

next time the fish lose i'll try to come through once again.

To suffer through that sh*t rotation and still win a ton only to have this great rotation squandered by crap hitting and defense is frustrating.

Its my fault....im sorry guys.

hahahaha, good one.

it just proves the long ball is fun to watch, but it cant last forever.

sooner or later you have to have consistent hitting. driving in runners when RISP.

or big 2 out hits. im tired of the strikeouts i really am.

i love watching homeruns fly out of the park, but im more of a small ball type guy.

and that defense....jesus....big time improvement needed for next season.

I haven't given up on the team, but with every game they lose they put themselves in a tougher position to climb back up the standings. 6 games are NOT unsurmountable with a month of baseball left, but they really do not look like they are gonna do better than what they are doing right now. If they didn't look so bad against sub-500 teams, I would not have a problem. But since they do, I do not blame anyone for giving up on them already.

It seems that if a team's best pitcher faces the Marlins, there's a chance of a win. But if it's a team's worst pitcher, the Marlins are more likely to lose.

And that's the enfuriating part.

i had never heard of that braves pitcher that started yesterday

we faced him before hes a rookie. I personally like him, I think hes got good stuff.

Oh boy. Mets coming to town and even the folks here have given up on the team. The stands will get ugly for sure this week end.

A couple of months when we were about 10 games over .500 I made a thread asking people to post where they thought we would end up and you said we would end up at about .500.

You gave up months ago.

It seems that if a team's best pitcher faces the Marlins, there's a chance of a win. But if it's a team's worst pitcher, the Marlins are more likely to lose.

That's what it seems like because two morons named Rich and Tommy keep repeating that nonsense but just because the morons keep repeating it doesn't make it true. That's complete BS. We do a lot better vs crappy pitchers than vs the top pitchers.

This team baffles me we couldent pitch or play any d to save our lives the 1st half and we win. Now we get the pitching and play better d and we lose. I guess the marlins dont beleive in the old pitching and d wins games saying. They believe the only way to win a game is by smacking the ball 430 feet.
