Any Word on the 40-man Roster Move?

Featured Replies

Who was 60-day'd, released, DFA'd, etc. to make room for Gaby Sanchez on the 40 man?

Our four Mudcats have been officially called up but I haven't seen the corresponding move yet.

Looks like they opened up a spot on 9/1/08 when they recalled Mike Rabelo and placed him on the 60-day DL. He was one of the call-ups for rosters expansion.

No the Rabelo move allowed the Marlins to activate Carroll from the 60 day DL. A roster move needs made today someone like Scott Nestor or even Jai Miller that didn't get promoted when rosters expanded could be removed from the 40 or an easy move like releasing Hoover.

As much as I like Jai and his potential, I hpe for his sake it's him that way he can get a shot elsewhere. I think he's running out of options, and it doesn't look liek the Marlins are ready to part w/ Hermida or Hammer yet.

Today's Marlins game notes, which are sent to me by my Season Ticket Account Rep, says that Paul Hoover was Designated For Assignment...

What the heck kinda hat is that rabb?

40% Stros, 60% Marlins.

I grew up in Houston until 93, so I was a Stros fan first and became a Marlins fan when I moved here.

How did you switch from one team to another? Did you even like the astros that much?

Oh ok. So 60% of you wants the fish to win and 40% wants the astros interesting.

I moved to Miami when I was 5, in February of 1993. We didn't even have cable, so no ESPN, no computer, and no way to follow the Astros, so I had to switch to the Marlins if I wanted to enjoy baseball. Plus, one day in the Summer of 93, I was playing stickball in the street with some kids from the neighborhood. One kid goes "I'll be Sheffield!" and I went "I'll be Bagwell!". Kid goes to me "Bagwell? No way. You can be Conine."

And that basically did it.

Honestly, It's more like I 100% want the marlins to win, but it hurts 40% less when they lose.

I would have thought you finally saw pictures of those uniforms the Astros used to wear. That would have changed my allegiance in a hurry.

Damn. It just occured to me. I had lived in Houston and moved from there before you were even born.

Please, those were the best unis ever(assuming you meant those rainbow ones). Remember, they wore those until 94, so I used to watch Biggio, Bagwell, and even good old Luis Gonzalez in the rainbows when I went to the Dome.
