March 25, 200917 yr I know that Sanchez is a little banged up but what gives? Does one, both, or neither make the club? I know Dallas is out of options but he's blowing his opportunity AGAIN. Please don't tell me Helms is starting on opening day. :banghead These ST numbers aren't good enough.... Gaby Sanchez .200, 0 HR, 0 RBI (30 AB) with .267 SLG and .226 OBP Dallas McPherson .216, 0 HR, 5 RBI with .297 SLG and .237 OBP (11 K's in 37 ABs) I wish Dallas would start to hit instead of being a career AAAA player. What are we going to do come opening day? Start Bonifacio at 3rd?
March 25, 200917 yr Gabby may start seaon in New Orleans and Dallas may just end up on the DL, they both could end up on the DL. Our opening day lineup may be Cantu at 1st and Bonifacio at third
March 25, 200917 yr Yeah both are sucking it up pretty bad. However both have been hurt lately and I hear Dallas is supposed to play in a minor league game today and test out his injury.
March 25, 200917 yr Gaby Sanchez (knee) will likely return to the lineup on Thursday or Friday, according to the Miami Herald. Sanchez bruised his knee in a collision with Nationals outfielder Lastings Milledge last week. In a battle for the first base job this spring, Sanchez has struggled.. However, the injury to Alfredo Amezaga has forced Jorge Cantu to stay at third. This makes first base Sanchez's job for the taking. He remains a decent sleeper candidate in NL-only leagues, but temper expectations here. ---RotoWorld.com
March 25, 200917 yr Gaby Sanchez is still a day or two away from returning to the active lineup as he continues to take it easy with his bruised left knee. He is still penciled in as the Marlins' starter at first, and no one with the Fish appears overly concerned at the moment, at least with his health that is. As for his work on the field, he is hitting only .200 without a single RBI in 30 AB. He needs to get going or he would obviously be in danger of losing some playing time at best, or at worst he could find himself returned to the minors to rediscover his lost stroke. Roto Times
March 25, 200917 yr You could DL both and see who comes around quickest and you can delay the envitable by sending them for minor league rehab. At this point I'd rather have Cantu at 3b and Helms at 1b, then whoever gets healthy.
March 25, 200917 yr If McPherson is healthy, I'd like him to get the position and send Gaby to triple-A. McPherson deserves a shot, especially if they have a decent excuse to give it to him.
March 25, 200917 yr I told ya guys to many of you were falling in love with Dallas and were gonna bit on the arse for it....
March 25, 200917 yr I told ya guys to many of you were falling in love with Dallas and were gonna bit on the arse for it.... It's spring training. His whole career he has stunk up the spring and dominated everything else. I'm not worried.
March 25, 200917 yr either way gabby isnt that young and is somewhere around 25 already. He really needs to get it going but if I had to choose I would give him the job unless Dallas proves otherwise. As for Boni starting at third i think hes been good and really had some great games with the bat. If he can produce a .300 avg i wouldnt be opposed to it and he can cause havoc on the bases. Thats why I love when ST games are on tv.
