Your #5 starter going against their #1 ace. I would say 7 times out of 10 you lose that game. But Adrew Miller did what he could, and the offense did their job against Lowe early, going deep into counts and getting timely hits when necessary. The bullpen was absolutely phenomenal today, from Penn, Calero, to Meyer ... even Pinto did his job in the 9th.

The key was adding those insurance runs in the 9th. That allowed us to save Lindstrom for tomorrow afternoon and allowed Pinto to get some work in a non pressure filled situation, which is key for him to get his control and consistency back.

Overall great win and these are the wins that'll definitely make the difference in us making the playoffs !

I'm not going to lie, I wasn't COMPLETELY confident that we would hold the lead when Pinto came in and threw the "Pinto Classic" (ball one).

After a few nerves and inappropriate comments about Pinto's last name, I was glad to see him do his job.

The insurance runs allowed us to save Leo Nunez for tomorrow afternoon, not Lindstrom.

But yeah, nice win, indeed.

Lindstrom wasn't gonna pitch Wednesday no matter what... Because of his arm issues, Freddi will not use Lindstrom in back to back games until this weekend at the earliest against the Nats...and I am hoping that Lindstrom won't be needed much this weekend against those Nats to make sure his arm is back to full strength

You're right, but during the game Rich Waltz was talking about Lindstrom maybe coming in to pitch the 9th since he only had 9 pitches in his previous outing. Fredi probably wasn't going to bring him in anyways but the fact that the Marlins added insurance runs they saved both Nunez and Lindstrom for tomorrow. That's all I'm saying.

Nunez was, clearly, warming up for the 9th.

I know it's a 162 game season, but I'm SO excited about this start. Since we start off with a road heavy schedule, maybe if we keep winning, we'll have some decent crowds at home later. :)

It'll be interesting, if we can continue this hot start, to see what kind of crowds we get when the Phillies come to town next week. We really should get great crowds, especially considering that it's a weekend series against the defending champs.
