May 21, 200917 yr this should have been two win but we only won one what your think on bullpen and starter and rest team ???
May 21, 200917 yr you cant take anything good away from today. thats pretty much what you can say about this DH, Wasted bullpen, wasted effort, hey wouldn't it be nice if they gave josh johnson 7 runs? damn im sure he'd love that, oh wait in comes pinto because his pitch count is too high, blown game. just garbage.
May 21, 200917 yr Unfortunately, next starter will be Andrew Miller. Our bullpen pitchers need some vacation right now.
May 21, 200917 yr We find a way to lose 1/2 of our games. And 1/3 we never had a chance in. That leaves us 1/3 to win. I think I've got it figured out. It's because we're a bad team, set up poorly by our front office. When you have depth and aren't trotting out AAA pitchers and infielders in the outfield, its easier to get the players to overcome some bad games or even a bad streak. Because they still believe in themselves and they feel like they can come out and win it the next day with the guys they have. But we don't have a complete team this year and the players don't believe in themselves anymore. And we don't have that one hot shot prospect we can call up to light the world on fire. And any trade we could make at this point would probably give away more talent than we could ever get in return. It's gonna be a long season...
May 21, 200917 yr I would have just rather we lost in 9 innings instead of the bullpen being taxed for another 4 innings. At least our bats are coming alive. Too bad we couldn't do anything in that 11th inning.
May 21, 200917 yr Don't be suprised to see Amezaga put on the DL to get another arm up to help the pen later today.
May 21, 200917 yr Don't be suprised to see Amezaga put on the DL to get another arm up to help the pen later today. Everyone knows we don't use the DL except for pitchers.
May 21, 200917 yr So many great things happened yesterday/this morning but so many bad things happened also. Baker and Cody's AB were the turning point. We should have won that 2nd game easily but NO!
May 21, 200917 yr I have stopped analyzing what is happening. We are at home against the last place team in the west and yet the best we can hope for is a split of the series, which is bad, and possibly a horrible 1-3. They could not hit, until now. We can't hold leads, and the situational hitting, being a clutch hit, a sac fly, etc. is as bad as ever. Maybe we just are not any good-I think it is sinking in to my thick skull. Just a matter of time for the mets and phils to start winning at a better clip and we will fall way out of the race by mid june. I don't know if this was a dream, but I think I woke up with my radio on in the 11th inning and we had the bags loaded with one out and Cody hits into a double play-did that really happen? And this is what I read from Fredi on MLB.com:We had a lead, a three-run lead, and it got away, and we had so many opportunities," manager Fredi Gonzalez said. "Just a sac fly or something. It didn't happen. They're a Major League team over there, and they made plays. I'm just proud of the way we kept coming back. We battled and battled. "I'm going to call this one: We didn't lose the game. We just ran out of outs. I'm real proud of the way we came back." I am not a "fire Fredi" guy, but I don't want to read this garbage. We led 4-0 and 7-4-what does he mean "...WE kept coming back." They kept coming back-we had not coming back to do-just leads to blow. "we didn't lose the game. We just ran out of outs." I think I have to puke.
May 21, 200917 yr They really didn't deserve to win the game after the screw-up that was the bottom of the 11th. The game HAD to be won then but wasn't. When will they learn?
May 21, 200917 yr Shame about the second game, but I put the blame on Pinto. His effort was the turning point and led, ultimately, to having to go to extras.
May 21, 200917 yr They really didn't deserve to win the game after the screw-up that was the bottom of the 11th. The game HAD to be won then but wasn't. When will they learn? I'm not saying that the entire team didn't deserve to win a game because two guys couldn't bring in the 8th run of the game. It should have never come to that point.
May 21, 200917 yr If the Marlins didn't deserve to win the game, neither did Arizona. Both teams played poorly.
