June 3, 200917 yr Dan Uggla congrats! hopefully he keeps on with the way hes been swinging the bat lately.
June 3, 200917 yr I went with Uggla. Hopper pitched well again though. Great start to the homestand, lets keep it up.
June 3, 200917 yr So a week or so ago, I said I disliked MLB Network... Well, I'm going to have change that after they interviewed Dan Uggla!!!!!!!!!

Unless Uggz rambling modestly is worth noting... Well he did mention having to hit the HR before the pressure really sunk in. I found his mindset remotely interesting.
June 3, 200917 yr Is 40 pitches in an inning without giving up a run a record? If not it has to be close.
June 3, 200917 yr Congratulations, Dan Uggla. Now why the hell is Anibal more deserving than Hopper 5 days from now? Anyone have the answer to that question? Yep. Anibal is a scheduled SP and Hopper does great coming out of the pen for those "just in case" situations. Anibal was only going to throw around 80 pitches in this game. He got there a little quickly, but Hopper picked up the slack. Just like it was planned on paper. Anibal gets another shot, maybe more than that. Let him get that arm strength up and able to get to 100 pitches. And as long as he is only giving up one ER and gets through at least 5 IP's everything will be fine. Face it, 5 innings is about all we can expect out of Hopper anyway. So you stick with the guy that has the higher upside unless he melts down in consecutive games.
June 3, 200917 yr Chuggla but B Hop gets an honrary mention the way he pitched tonight. Cody also gets an honorable mention for the granny and web gem/ top ten play
June 3, 200917 yr And his name is Dan Uggla! It really is remarkable that Uggla is on pace for 31 HR and 118 RBI all while he still has a .212 avg.
June 3, 200917 yr you got to give it to uggla heres a guy who was struggling in the minor leagues i read an article where they said he had 6 different batting stances.he was not supposed to be here he got his chance and has taken full of advantage of it. going to 2 allstar games.so hitting homerun number 100 is a huge milestone for uggla.CONGRATS TO DAN UGGLA ON HIS 100TH HOMERUN!!!!!!!!!!!! :thumbup
June 3, 200917 yr ALSO MUCH PROPS TO BURKE BADENHOP ON going 5 innings and only giving up 1 hit and getting 2 strikeouts.good relief by burke badenhop and good job improving to 4-2.
June 3, 200917 yr And his name is Dan Uggla! It really is remarkable that Uggla is on pace for 31 HR and 118 RBI all while he still has a .212 avg. Just imagine if he got that average up.

June 3, 200917 yr Barry bonds struck out a ton and had a low on base percentage and alex sancheZ lead the majors in hr and RBI when he played. Didn't you know? Misconceptions like that are the reason we'll never get beyond steroids.

Misconceptions like that are the reason we'll never get beyond steroids. Ignorance is bliss, huh? There's plenty of reasons to believe at least 50% have used or still do use steroids. This guy was supposed to be nothing, then screwed around with his stances, and then bursts onto the scene smacking home runs around. Small, bulky guy. Do the math. The Marlins should be legally allowed to use them considering our payroll and ownership.

Seems like the kind of thing steroids would enable. High strikeouts, low on base.. decent amount of HR and RBI. enable? Verb S: (v) enable (render capable or able for some task) "This skill will enable you to find a job on Wall Street"; "The rope enables you to secure yourself when you climb the mountain" Look, I'm not trying to take anything away from his accomplishment. It really is a great feat. But this is what happens when so many players have been linked to steroids. It's baseballs own fault. But this guy would be the classic case of someone trying to make it in the bigs. People like Manny and A-Rod didn't need the stuff, so it's obvious why there is so much more outrage against them. But for Uggla, I could understand it if he does take them. So once again, not saying he did them. But his numbers and minor league woes raise a lot of suspicion on my part.

Burke Badenhop's last start was a 5 inning, 1 ER performance against a tough Philadelphia lineup, in Philly. He is capable of doing what Anibal does, especially considering Anibal isn't at full strength (what else is new?)
June 3, 200917 yr I like how Badenhop has pitched the last few outings. He's definitely at Anibal's level right now.
June 3, 200917 yr it was good game for Anibal's back been it first game uggla looking better at bat so let hope this good sign for team this started as good home stand let hope we keep it up
June 3, 200917 yr I'm beginning to wonder if Anibal might be better served by going to the bullpen. It seems like Nolasco has been going strong at AAA and we're gonna have an odd man out somewhere.
