Why haven't the first two signed yet considering they were drafted and I heard that they were purported to have signability? You think it's that they are holding out for more money or are considering college?

In James's case his dad wants 100k more and is making his son sit.

Draft picks gets taste of the big leagues

The Marlins brought second-round draft pick Bryan Berglund to Dodger Stadium on Saturday for a meet and greet. A 6-foot-4 right-hander out of Royal High School in nearby Simi Valley, Berglund chatted with pitching coach Mark Wiley, Josh Johnson and Chris Volstad.

Wiley told him, "You don't have to be this tall to pitch in the major leagues."

Berglund, like first-round pick Chad James, has yet to sign.

"I really want to go out and play, but this is the one time I have for a while to be able to negotiate stuff and get what I want," said Berglund, who has committed to Loyola Marymount. "I'm pretty confident that I'll be signed just because I really want to go out and play."

Berglund will be attending college then?

No, he says himself he'll be signed because he wants to play pro ball

Almost none of the bigger-name first rounders have signed as it stands right now. This is far worse than last year, in terms of players signed by now. ESPN had an article about it on Friday. Looks like most of the big names are going to go down to the wire (especially Strasburg and Tyler Matzek). MLB badly needs to reform a lot of its draft system, particularly the rule that draft picks can't be traded.

Cooper is already playing in GCL Marlins.

doh! I keep on forgetting his first name is Marquis, not Da'Shon.
