Posted June 25, 200915 yr Ok, so I'm just throwing this idea out there concerning our farm system. The idea is if: I made a Daily Farm Report thread where I post all of our top prospects stats and info from that night. I think it would be a good idea as there is an unofficial website that gives Cardinals daily farm reports and it's pretty effective and I think it would be nice to just have to go one place a night to see the minor league stats from that day. I could post these threads every night or every couple of nights or even every week. I could even give some analysis and ask for replies from whoever wants to reply. Anyway, I'm just wondering if anyone would read this thread that I would be making. If it doesn't sound like a good idea then that's fine, just tell me. I don't want to go through the work if nobody is going to read it, but if I know people are going to read it, then I would love to do this.
June 25, 200915 yr Someone used to do this last year, and I always enjoyed reading the reports...so it's a yes for me.
June 25, 200915 yr Yeah MrandMrsFish used to do it last season but I'm down, it's better then checking 3 websites a day.
June 25, 200915 yr I'd read it. I don't think you need to do it every night though. Maybe like every other night or you could do just a weekly summary. I think a weekly thing would be best.
June 25, 200915 yr I'd think a day-day is better than weekly if you're going to do it. Maybe recruit a 2nd person and split up the upper minors and A ball if you're going to add analysis. I'm still going to do the monthly roundup as I have been.
June 25, 200915 yr Author My plan is: -Each week will consist of ONE thread that will be updated by me DAILY. -I will give what analysis my baseball insight allows me to give. (Heh) -Of course the thread will be open for discussion and I hope that we can all discuss and debate. -I will totally be up for suggestions, all I really care about is getting as many people to read as possible. Also, I have an important question. What players should I include? Of course I'm not talking about the obvious ones (Maybin, Stanton, Morrison, Sanchez). How deep should I go? It's not difficult simply posting stats so I can go pretty deep if you all would read that. The analysis would pretty limited the more deep I go, but I don't plan on spending too much time on analysis simply b/c we could all analyze the stats, so I'll let you all do that, instead of me. Anyway, sounds good. I should start tomorrow night after the day's action and I'm looking forward to this.
June 25, 200915 yr Sometimes it comes in a little late, but http://firstinning.com/daily/fla/ lists a full stat overview of the farm system every night.
June 25, 200915 yr I would read it, I would certainly appreciate your efforts in this endeavor :thumbup
June 25, 200915 yr As far as what players to include, I wouldn't think you have to stay 100% consistent from week to week. Include the big names obviously, but others could pop in and out of your list if you want, depending on how they're doing.

Yeah I like the idea of including a player that's not necessarily a big name prospect-wise, but has been on a tear lately. I'm thinking of something like a "Who's Hot? Who's Not?" section.

Yeah, I like the "Who's Hot? Who's Not?" section too. I will do my best to make that as interesting as I can. We'll see what you all think tonight when I make the first after tonight's action.
June 26, 200915 yr There's a lot of us here who pay attention to the minor league action and I thoroughly enjoy hearing about our youngsters. With the Marlins these guys are pretty much our lifeline and they will become major leaguers quicker than anywhere else so its important to know. I always enjoy Marlinslou's monthly updates and like to see other minor league recaps.
