Gload is 7 for his last 27. Hermida is hitting .290 in his last 55 ABs. You pointed out that 7-27 is still better than Hermida's overall average. Hermida more than makes up for those 6 points with his outfield arm.

 

As for your platoon argument, Gload is worse than him vs LHP.

Not happening (I started a Maybin thread this afternoon...it explains why they won't call him up).

Also, if Maybin were to come up, I wouldn't want him platooning, anyways. I'd want him playing everyday.

 

The more logical choice would be Carroll, but he was sent down to have an extra pitcher in the pen for now.
