August 18, 200917 yr I'm way more worried about the Nats possibly getting Harper next year than Strasburg. Yup.

August 18, 200917 yr I'm way more worried about the Nats possibly getting Harper next year than Strasburg. Yup. And the next, and the next, and the next, and the next, etc. Well, I meant Harper specifically. Dude seems like Roy Hobbs.
August 18, 200917 yr I'm not that worried about Harper. I figure if the nats draft him next year we won't see him till 2012 or 13. Plus who knows how he does facing some real competition on a daily basis. He's yet to experience faliure and who knows how he'll react to it. Remeber any thing can happen IE Josh Hamilton.
August 18, 200917 yr Forget Strasburg, his not worth the kind of money him and Boras want!!!! IMO noone should get more than $10mill in a draft! Out of the 5 players to sign for $9mill or more only Mark Texeira has turned out to be a stud. Others are Travis Lee, Mark Prior, Matt White, and David Price (who everyone said he could jump striaght to the majors, but yet has struggled just like Strasburg will too)
August 18, 200917 yr apparently the nats upped their offer up to 15 million. the deadline has passed but we won't know if strasburg accepted until the paper work gets to the mlb office. probably sometime between 12:15 AM and 12:30 AM
August 18, 200917 yr Strasburg signs for $15.7 mil. good for the nats. it's alot of money but they couldn't afford not to sign their pick with the debacle that occurred last season with aaron crow on another note, the rangers failed to sign their 14th overall pick matt purke
August 18, 200917 yr Good for him I guess. That's still a ridiculous amount of money to give someone who has never pitched in the majors....
August 18, 200917 yr 4 years, $15.67 Million. That's seriously some crazy money considering what the average rookie makes when they enter the league. Boras wins again, he usually finds a way to make the team sweat and up there offer at the last minute, and he got the Nationals to do just that. Next stop, drafting Bryce Harper and giving him $20 million guaranteed.
