He's having the rookie struggles that he avoided last year.

 

 

exactly, last year's Volstad kept the ball down, had hitters hit a lot of ground balls and very few home runs while working out of trouble.

 

This year's Volstad is leaving the ball up in the zone, is getting fly balls instead of ground balls, and isn't getting out of the trouble he did last year.

umm, he wasnt good his last start either. did you conveniently leave out the 4 bb's? and he has been walking to many people and giving up to many hits and hr's for our #3 hitter. we have guys like badenhop martinez hensley that could step in for a couple of starts or just find somebody off the waiver wire. we cant continue to have 2 starters not going into the 4th f***ing inning

#1 WHAT ARE WE GOING TO DO????? Who are we going to put in? Volstad is worse than I'd thought he be tonight... :boo-woo Now, I'm kinda hoping that it's going to be one of "Those games" where both sides score a lot of runs!

 

Also, I quoted this to say, I really don't agree.

Chris Volstad is the oddest case I have ever seen. He gave up 25 home runs during his minor league career from 2005-2008. Last year he only allowed 3 HR's in 84 IP. This year he has given up 26 HR's in 146 IP. What the hell happened between now and then?

And of course we're not getting hits, either.

Can we have that rain from last night come back and postpone this game for us?
