If you assume that they aren't going to risk an extra season of Maybin for a few days there really isn't anyone they can bring up that you'd think of as a difference-maker which makes me wonder if Beinfest looks outside the organization in these last few days for another bat.

Aw screw home work and going to work, I betcha if you tell your teachers and your bosses that the Marlins were in the middle of a playoff race, they would understand.

Lol, I'll give it a shot.

Is this the 2007 Rockies? Holy crap man....

Not really, the Rockies have been playing well for some time now. They just got off to a REALLY bad start and took a while for anyone to notice them playing well.

What did Jeremy Hermida do today?

A costy error, a solo hit, score a run, get struck out, and keep collecting salary and retirement.

Hermida won't be around next year, so you don't have to worry about it much longer.

He might turn into a good baseball player with another team, but I think its just not going to happen here.

So, one error today, and he's a bum?

I never said he is a bum, I said that today I'd trade him for a box of new balls. Awful at bats and LOB as usual.

What error? The Marlins had no errors today according to the box score....

The annotator did not charge him with it, but that was an error here, in Japan, or anywhere else.

I agree. But what really pisses me off is that I like the guy, young, excellent biotype, tremendous power. Then I guess in the future, playing for who knows who he may beat the crap out of our pitchers and we'll have to remember all his bs and live with it.

One way or another he doesn't seem to correct his selection of pitches, he strikes out with balls that you'll need two bats to hit them, and he does it a lot.

Oh freaking well!

The annotator

Of course you mean the official scorer. The guy Tommy likes to run down the hall to argue with, often successfully.

:lol

Please forgive the eng/span mix-up (Aka "spanglish" = typical Miami crap :p)

Annotator... Jesus!

Yup! The same old guy. I appreciate he didn't give him the error, but that play was awful.

That was actually meant for GeeMoney and h2r09. One bad play, and he's the worst player on the planet.

If this were his first mistake (or only his second, or third....) then it wouldn't be a big deal. But he's made a habit of making mistakes in the OF, and this just added to an already long list and led to the Mets scoring a run.

Everyone makes mistakes. No one is perfect. And the fact that you guys want him gone when he is one of our hottest hitters is laughable.

I would hope after all this time he'd be able to play the OF halfway decently, but he can't even seem to do that. I don't see Ross or even Coghlan making the kinds of mistakes Hermida continually does. And our whole lineup has been hot the last month; I'm not sure if you're aware, but we did just have double-digit hits in 15 games straight. And what does it say about him if he is one of our hottest hitters, yet is still only hitting .264 on the year?

It's not an error b/c the ball never touched his glove...not b/c the official scorer felt sorry for him or something.

He misplayed a ball...for what it's worth, Cody Ross did the same thing a couple of innings after, only he was fortunate to catch his.

That he's really struggled...........................................against left-handed pitching.

It's amazing how some of you have made a .264/.355/.402 player into a guy who doesn't belong in the big leagues. (those #'s translate to .292/.379/.437 against RHP)

Oh and this is the perfect time to get rid of him too...he only has a .934 .OPS this month. That bum.

PS - The Coghlan "double" tonight was due to the fact that Sheffield has no range...this to the people who wanted Sheffield...he can't even play LF.

FWIW, I never said he doesn't belong in the Majors. I'd just prefer not to have him on my team.

My bad, the thing is that you didn't "quote"

Personally I don't believe he's the worst player on the planet, it's just that one day he makes a great catch or add one to his RBIs but (And lets be honest) most days he's like an empty uniform, and all that happens when we need his power the most.

Not that I think he doesn't want to do it right, but he's just not.

It might be apathy, or I don't know what, but maybe (And I'm not the only one who believes this) he needs a week or two on the bench.
