October 30, 200916 yr Not sure if this is Major League or Minor League news From the Jacksonville News A Major League Baseball team is scheduled to appear in Jacksonville for the first time since 2006. The Double-A Jacksonville Suns will meet their parent club, the Florida Marlins, on April 2 next year at the Baseball Grounds of Jacksonville. It marks the first time a major-league team has played in the city since the Los Angeles Dodgers, then the Suns' parent club, took on Jacksonville in a preseason game. The Suns became a Marlins affiliate this season and won the Southern League championship. "It will be a great day for baseball here in Jacksonville," Suns president and general manager Peter Bragan Jr. said Wednesday. October 30, 200916 yr Historically, this could be quite an exhibition and maybe worth a trip north to see just to say you saw so and so when. Think about the talent that potentially could be on the field that night and it's very interesting.
October 31, 200916 yr I meant to go to the NOLA v.s. Jax game last season but didn't I like that they say guys from Jax last year will be on Jax team, which I assume means the likes of Logan, Stanton, Morrison, and co. If those guys aren't there, really the only interesting guy to watch would be Dominguez.
October 31, 200916 yr Bought my 3 tickets already, Section 111.....second row behind the Marlins dugout. I suspect the game will be sold out. Its a terrific ball park and great family setting. My daughter will be trying to get her Marlins cap signed by Hanley.

Wife's bro and his entire family live in Jax. Could be a fun time. Did ya get the tix on line? Can ya give any info on the ball park?

Great ball park, about 4 years old..............all chairbacks except outfield bleachers. Major league ball park dimensions. Capacity a bit under 12,000, not a bad seat anywhere. Very family friendly..concourse extends from first to third into the outfields. Good concessions. The Suns web site will tell you more. The ballpark is situated in downtown Jax between the Coliseum and the football stadium. I've taken the family to a few Suns games and have always had a good time.
November 2, 200916 yr Funny that this was posted... I literally just got back from jax and went to the Suns park while I was there... nice little facility they have there. It is all brick... I will post pics when i get a chance. I will def make the trip up for this...

I'm gonna look into it and if the stars align properly we will make the trip there. Still surprised tix are on sale so soon, especially single game, but I'm not complaining.
November 2, 200916 yr I just bought 4 tickets. I ponied up for best available and got 4 in section D1. $32.50 per ticket for something this close to the action can't be beaten anywhere. Is it Spring Training Yet?
November 3, 200916 yr I actually printed out my tickets. You can't beat the convenience. As for people who have questions in regard to the ballpark and area. It is an awesome little ballpark. Excellent concessions and sitelines. It is most likely the best AA facility out there. For those out of towners that make the trip here and need to get a hotel, look into staying at the beach. Better area than downtown with more to do. Only a 20 minute srive at most to the stadium.
