Posted February 3, 201015 yr Amezaga signed a minor league deal with the Dodgers that will pay him $650K if he makes the team with another possible 800K in incentives. It's officially Bonifacio time now.
February 3, 201015 yr That's good for Mez hope he get's plenty of opportunity to play and I can't even imagine how great the styles of Manny and Alfredo will blend, i have a feeling there will be a lot of shenanigans going on in L.A.. Oh and just a heads up for future references, this article belongs in the MLB section rather then the marlins section.
February 3, 201015 yr I think we can afford to give AA at least a few hours recognition on the Marlins board for the spirit and contributions he brought to the team. I'm still laughing at the thought of him and Manny playing off each other on the bench though, should be some great theater. :brigginbounce
February 3, 201015 yr good luck pasta...you are a credit to your profession in how hard you work and the spirit you brought to the game...i hope you make the team for the dodgers and do well...you are one of my favorite marlins' players of all-time and thanks for your contributions to the team
February 3, 201015 yr MLB Trade Rumors reporting Amezaga has NOT yet been signed 8:42pm: A Dodgers official tells Tony Jackson of ESPNLosAngeles.com that the sides haven't reached a deal, though the team is considering Amezaga.
February 3, 201015 yr Author Sometimes that site jumps the gun. He would have a hard time making the Dodgers anyway as they have spent money on Reed Johnson and Jamey Carroll for the bench.

Well, they don't jump the gun as much as report when others have jumped the gun, and between this and the Mauer contract, it looks like there's a lot of gun jumping. Also I think that if Mez did get signed by the Dodgers it would be Carroll who had trouble making the team, not Mez.
February 3, 201015 yr Author You are wrong about that. Carroll has a guaranteed contract worth around $2 million bucks.
February 3, 201015 yr You are wrong about that. Carroll has a guaranteed contract worth around $2 million bucks. Well, neither of us can be wrong about something we have zero inside knowledge about. It happens though (remember '08 with Catillo vs Cantu?). Mez is more valuable of a bench peice than Carroll.
February 3, 201015 yr Author He might be more versatile but he's not a better player that Carroll is.
February 3, 201015 yr He might be more versatile but he's not a better player that Carroll is. As a starter? Probably not. As a bench player I think he is.

High five. We managed to have disagreeing points of views without any name calling or belittling or condescending. That's a real accomplishment compared to these past days.

I remember a year or 2 ago you had arguments with a couple of other poster here *cough kcire, * (that's code)that had no points of agreement what so ever. Good times, good times.
February 3, 201015 yr the hot stove tracker have nothing on signing 1. Amezaga, Alfredo UT FLA --- --- Non-tendered
February 3, 201015 yr the hot stove tracker have nothing on signing 1. Amezaga, Alfredo UT FLA --- --- Non-tendered stop teasing me..That just isnt right!
February 3, 201015 yr Resigning Amezaga increases the chances that Boner plays a large role. Anyone who doesn't want Bonifacio to play a lot should be hoping Amezaga is gone.
