That was the best bullpen decison ever.
April 10, 201015 yr Maybe someone can explain this to me. This is how things played out in the 7th after it was 2-1: Hensley came in and he walked Martin on a full count. That is bad. He then allowed a sac bunt to Hiroki, got an out, that is not the end of the world. And now there were 2 outs. The bases were then loaded to induce a force out at all the bases. Hensley then induced a ground ball, which coulda, shoulda, woulda usually been a force out, but unlucky for him and the Marlins it was hit in just the perfect place to get a run in, and then H-Ram threw it into the outfield, which of course must be Fredi's and Hensley's fault somehow. And then Hensley got out of the inning. How does this series of events paint Hensley all that badly. Or even beyond that, how does this paint Fredi in a bad way? Some times the ball takes an unlucky bounce for you, tonight it did. 9 out of 10 times the ground ball would have gotten us out of the inning.
April 10, 201015 yr they both suck. veras and henlsey have both had two appearances this season and have totally been trash. re-sign mcclung and give him another chance or go out and sign russ springer and braden looper to minor league deals. i miss calero and donnelly. would it have killed the cheap ass front office to sign just ONE player to a major league deal specifically, a reliable reliever.

Hensley didn't even do terribly, tonight. Funny how Hensley went from being "great, belongs in the rotation!" to "Hensley sucks, DFA him!" in the matter of...like a week. I agree with Veras, though. The guy has always been a high walks guy, he hadn't done anything with us before, we owe him nothing, didn't even have a good Spring Training...and he, somehow, made the team, easily. I don't get it.

Silly boy, the answer is obvious, Veras has pictures of Freddi and Fidel smoking some cohibas together
April 10, 201015 yr o stfu with this crap. he needs to find out what we have in the pen. the only way to know if you have a guy like calero last year or meyer last year is to give him chances We had our discussion in the GDT but all I'll say is he put in a guy who's usual job is to eat innings and worry about runs later in to a situation in which he was only going to throw one inning or less with runners on base instead of the best reliever on the team in high leverage situations. Sure, he wasn't bad tonight and did fall victim to some bad luck but that's not the point. I don't know about the OP but no matter the result, I'd still be questioning this move.

The only other option there might've been Tim Wood. Meyer must've killed one of Fredi's relatives, btw.

He did the same thing last year with one of our pitchers, don't remember exactly who it was and he also did the same when it came to getting Gaby ABs at the end of the year.

April 10, 201015 yr Yeah, it was Meyer. Makes sense. He left Calero in the bullpen a few times in weird spots, but he definitely did it most to Meyer.

In Veras' defense, he didn't do TERRIBLY bad, he left with two men on, but at the time he had gone 1.2 scoreless. It wasn't untill Pinto came in and...well, did what I expected he would do that Veras 'gave up' those runs. Sure, those two walks and one hit would have been nice to have been without, and as far as I've seen he's sucked, but uggg. Pinto? There? C'mon Freddie.
April 10, 201015 yr The bullpen still struggles and Volstad continues to get very poor run support hope things turn around thogh its still very early.
