April 18, 201016 yr Went with Nate. We pretty much got him for the Phils and ATL and he showed up big time today.
April 18, 201016 yr He's currently on pace to finish with 121 IP. If he's stretched out, keep him stretched out. Turn him into the Mike Marshall of the 2000's. The pace is a function of how poorly our bullpen has performed thus far. I would like to see him in the 80 IP range, because that would probably mean some of the other relievers get their acts together and we use them more often.
April 18, 201016 yr Robertson has been solid for us...I expect him to keep up the good work and he seems to be a good 3rd or 4th starter. Of course, I could just be getting ahead of my self...but these 3 starts are cause for optimism
April 18, 201016 yr Tough call, but I went with Nate. When you have starting pitching as good as the last starts from JJ, Nolasco, Volstad and Nate... you'll go far.
April 18, 201016 yr Nate didn't really pitch 7 shut out innings. Pitched great, though. Please elaborate.

April 18, 201016 yr Great win, and (another) great comeback series victory as well. Gotta give to Danny over Nate, only slightly, because of the way he is hitting right now(he's leading the everyday players in BA right now, who would have thought that? lol). And kudos to Cogs for giving his all in LF even though he's in bizarro world at the plate. With iffy starting pitching to start the year and an uncertain bullpen, we've somehow managed to not lose a series(shoulda swept the Reds though). Get Cogs straightened out at the plate and get Sanchez, or someone else, to hold down the 5 spot in the rotation, and things look real promising. On Baseball Tonight a few minutes ago Bobby Valentine called an "all Florida World Series" for this year. Needless to say I'm down for that!
April 19, 201016 yr They are probably going to be overshadowed by the other choices, but Hopper and Nunez were fantastic as well shutting down the Phillies. I want to see more of the Leo Nunez that uses his changeup efficiently. he also said that he would start using his slider more which i think he needs to do.

If you go back a week or ten days ago and watch his delivery he almost seems like a different person. He's (relatively speaking) much for upright and displaying much less movement in his delivery. There was a point not too long ago he would go into this crouch, almost yoga-like, in preparation for starting his windup and all that has (thankfully I think) disappeared. So far the change is working, let's hope it continues.

A Fastball/change-up combo is one of the best in the game if any pitcher can harness it and Nunez has done so and done so in a way that he has made both lefties and righties look clueless. He should keep doing what he's doing now until they finally start hitting him, then it could be time to work the slider in.

Johan has a better one, but that's a circle change so I don't know if they could be considered in the same category.
April 19, 201016 yr Great game and it is sooooooo nice to beat Philly two out of three. Uggla came through and Nate pitched a good game. I hope they keep it rolling when they play the Astros. Go Marlins!
April 19, 201016 yr Uggs has come up huge this whole Philly series and now is actually leading the team in BA and SLG.
