Im not too big of a fan on Gaby hitting 3rd, i think his a perfect #2 hitter.. Why not try this?

1. Logan Morrison - LF

2. Gaby Sanchez - 1B

3. Hanley Ramirez - SS

4. Dan Uggla - 2B

5. Cody Ross - CF

6. Mike Stanton - RF

7. Wes Helms - 3B

8. Ronny Paulino

I wouldn't mind it but I doubt they want to pressure Lo Mo into hitting 1st and also they'd like speed in the top of the order which Hanley provides.

So far we've been winning with this lineup so lets just keep it as is for now.

if anything, i wouldnt mind swapping hanley and gaby to give morrison the protection of hanley's presence.

The team would never do that. They like speed at the top of the order, be it Coghlan, Hanley, Maybin or Bonifacio.

I think Morrison and Coghlan are about the same (speed)

If Coghlan had no problem hitting 1st (he had always hit middle of the order before) than i see no reason why Morrison would.

i think, for the future, this team is REALLY counting on maybin eventually becoming the leadoff hitter.

I REALLY hope to never see Maybin being on his team again! Hopefully they can trade him this offseason for at least a piece of cookie

They should have just let him bat leadoff at the beginning of last year. His bat wasn't polished, but a leadoff hitter has to do the least situational hitting of any hitter on the team, while hitting 8th left him without much to hit and with much more responsibility. If we had asked him to bat leadoff, which he seemed comfortable with at the end of 2008, he may have had more success.

Disagree. His problems last year were a combination of a couple things. His bat really wasn't ready. But the most important was the shoulder injury that he said he hid. His almost exact words to me at the Holiday Party was that he hid the injury because he didn't want to be taken out of the line up. Then hid it at AAA too. Did say he had learned from that.

I have no idea what was going on, but at that party he just came up to me as I was walking to get a drink and started talking like he was a long lost friend or something. Never met the guy before, but we chatted for a good 15 minutes or more. Quite the nice kid with some smarts to him.

Do you really think Maybin is worthless? A 24 year old who has shown flashes of brilliance in the MLB is worthless? I for one am looking forward to 2012 when Maybin is our starting CF and leadoff man.

He showed a flash of brilliance in September of 2008. Most scouts will tell you never buy into the September numbers. The tools are there for Maybin but he seems to be really lacking when it comes to the mental side of the game. Plus his swing is bad.

That lineup sounds good but isnt playing to our strengths right now. At this moment I like hanley leading off and Gaby third. If we get Hanley on a real Hanley'like run again, then maybe we can drop him back down.

What about switching Uggla and Gaby? That will give Morrison a lot more protection plus Ugglas OBP is real nice.

we need to get gaby out of the 3 hole. hes a #2 hitter i dont like him much in the 3 hole.
