What is your 2011 starting lineup and rotation?

We really shouldn't.

Hensley main problem as a starter was how he would get hammered when batters faced him a 2nd and 3rd time around.

He's done great in the setup role so we should keep him there.

Hensley didn't have the change up in those days.

Now he has four pitches and could be very effective in mulitiple innings.

And he can hold batters on and is not a walk machine.

If it doesn't work out, back to the bullpen.

Ceda/Nunez are going to get the eighth and ninth next year anyway.

That's true the changeup has be big for him this season and if anything Clay could be the 7th inning guy.

I wouldn't care if we gave him a fair chance with Miller, West, Sanchez and Volstad.

If they're demoting Leo (meaning he won't be getting more saves), they might as well trade him this month, while his value is at its highest.

His value was its highest before the trade deadline. Since trading becomes much more difficult now, it'll probably drive down his value.

It's really a sh*t position if you're going to demote him. He won't be as valuable next year because he won't be getting those flashy saves, but he really isn't any more valuable right now. Our best bet is to keep him as a closer for the rest of the year, resign him and trade him in the off-season as a closer.

There was no guarantee or indication that he'd start pitching worse this year, and the Marlins also felt like they could still make a push for a playoff spot (I believe the team was over .500 at the time).

Things have changed. Still though, Leo Nunez has very good value right now. He's had a good year, to the point where any contending team in need of a quality reliever would love to have him. Good ERA, good WHIP, good K:BB rate, good GB rate, and he's only allowed 1 HR this year. We could get a potential quality arm right now for a guy who we would probably lose after the 2011 season, anyway.

I'm for keeping him if they intend to leave him as a closer so his production leads to saves, but if they're demoting him, I don't see the point in him staying around. It only hurts his value the further that continues.

Matt Capps got the Nationals Wilson Ramos; all things considered, Leo has been better than Capps. And he's younger, too.

I agree with most of the line up but would like to see if Maybin can finally get it together. I thought he would have a much better season this year. I hope in '11 his hitting gets on track..

I'm on the Hensley bandwagon. I see Tim Hudson type of potential. He should spend the offseason getting ready for the rotation.

Hensley and Sanabia should join JJ, Ricky and Anibal in the rotation.

Put three lefties in the bullpen.

No shot Sean West goes to the bullpen.

He put up 10 starts with 2 ER or less last season at the age of 22. He's a future 3 or 4 starter.

I agree West will not be in the bullpen.

He should not be in the rotation next year either.

A left handed Chris Volstad.

91 mph, too many hanging breaking balls, can't hold on runners.

If he threw 96, that would be something else. But he doesn't, and won't.

We'll see next year in Spring Training.

I just want the Marlins to give Hensley a chance at the rotation.

That's a bold statement calling him a left handed Volstad when only 4 runners have stolen a base when he's pitching...

I guess no one agrees with me about Morey.

He's got a ways to go as he's only 22 and has only pitched in 7 games in the minors and he's given up a run in 4 of those 7 games.

Give him a season in A and a season in AA then see how he does from there before you call him up.

don't we have two guys in double A , kohler and vilanueva, that are putting up good numbers? I know there old, and not really that great as far as stuff is concerned, but shouldn't they get an opportunity in triple A, especially if miller can't succeed down there. If one of those two guys could do what they are doing in the minors, in the majors, we'll be set.

I agree West will not be in the bullpen.

Their numbers are a heck of a lot better than West's were in AA.

But they were not number one draft picks like West so no one in the front office has their personal status tied to their success.

Really?

OK, so West is a left handed Chris Volstad with a lousy fastball and hanging breaking pitches who holds runners on better than some.

Isn't the job of the front office to have the best team possible play the game?

One would think.

But, like in every organization, most employees care more about their own jobs than anything else.

I was thinking this year in Greensboro, starts out next year in Jupiter for the first month before going to Jacksonville or wherever the AA affiliate will be next year, and a September callup.

f***ing Maybin and Miller...

first thing that popped in my head when I saw Maybin's name up there.

Got a bad feeling we just gave away a hof'er for pretty much nothing.

Lets hope Maybin can blossom in a September call up or some extended time in New Orleans.
