May 23, 201115 yr Why is it that every time we win the Phillies win and vice versa with losses? I was thinking about that, too. It's getting irritating.

We do that all year and Id say we have a very good shot at the PO through the wild card. Id love to win the div but the wild card works just as well.

Why everyone seem to be happy with the wild card, i was always told to reach for the top, not hearing anyone saying they would like to win the division.

The NL East is very tough. It would be great to win the division. But just making the playoffs would also be great.

I'm saying, if you reach for the top and fail one position you end up as the wild card, you reach for the wc and fail you are out of the playoff, that is my take.
May 23, 201115 yr Because the top isn't 1st place in the NL East, it is World Champions, and the WC can do that to.
May 23, 201115 yr Is that the Marlins now 0-6 in games the day before an off-day? 5-7 on day games. Note, while we still have a decent amount of wins in day games, it is not at all reflective of our W-L record.

May 23, 201115 yr What? He asked if we were now 0-6 during games before an off-day and you gave the record for day games.
May 24, 201115 yr The Marlins players, staff and FO should reach for the Div until mathematically they can't win it. As fans it really doesn't matter what we reach for.
May 24, 201115 yr What? He asked if we were now 0-6 during games before an off-day and you gave the record for day games. It was a rhetorical question... and I was adding on my comment for another statistic also related to yesterday's game.

Accepting the "fact" that we can't beat the Phillies is just setting yourself up for a let down in the play offs where we may have to see either them or some other team that took them out. If you don't think we are good enough to beat them and take the division now then you can't think we are good enough to beat them later on. And an update....Now those highly regarded front 4 on the Phillies are 15-14 life time vs the Marlins.

Until then, it was rhetorical :shifty
