July 29, 201114 yr I know this hitting streak is getting fairly long but could it be his walks and stolen bases that are helping us win. I just want to know everybodys opinion on him helping us. He has scored 27 runs in 26 games and keeps getting on. Could he be the MVP right now for the Fish?
July 29, 201114 yr Author That's all I'm saying since the all-star break he has to be the MVP for the fish
July 29, 201114 yr he's got an OPS of 1.097 this season when he's ahead of the pitcher, which happens about 1/3 PAs. if he can take some more balls he could be a beaaaaaast
July 29, 201114 yr I didn't think he was ready 2 years ago, and said so. But I watched him play in the DR and I could tell he had a clue, he just couldn't lay off the high cheese. He's been laying off the high fastball thus far and it has worked out really well for him as a result
July 30, 201114 yr I really hope he can keep it up. This is the kind of player the Marlins need at the top of the lineup. Now if only Coghlan could fix himself..
July 30, 201114 yr For July he's definitely MVP. Lets let the season finish though... I definetly agree. It looks like it has finally clicked for him. But people should not keep going to extremes. Let's see how this plays out. I have said all along the guy has the talent, but he needs to work some things out. I'm hoping he has done that. It could make this off season very interesting.

He has always had some talent but like you said he needed to work things out and he has been the surprise for me this year anyways.
July 30, 201114 yr He gets on base and has speed. We won that trade. Josh WIllingham also had speed. He got on the DL faster than anyone I know. (other than Nick Johnson)

July 31, 201114 yr Ugh, mantis back. Anyhoo...anyhooooo...anyhoooooo... What does team do with Boni? He needs to start next year. Personally, his bat can replace Omar in terms of avg and he is a SB threat. Interesting off season...IF Omar is on team next year, he may be bench bat... I like Boni, he's good now.
