January 16, 201214 yr Bradford is laughably bad so far and Palmer was out of the league before Jason Campbell broke his collarbone, and looked terrible this year. I'd be shocked if he's starting for anyone come 2014.

I'd be shocked if he's starting for anyone come 2014. He was out of the league because he decided to be out of the league. As soon as he came back, a team instantly traded for him. Bradford is only bad because of the mess he's in, not because he's a bad talent. The Rams are horrible. Their line is horrible. Before they traded for Lloyd, their receivers were horrible. They have no tight ends what so ever. They drafted Kendricks in the second round I believe, but he's severely disappointing, dropping 9 passes, which is second in the league for Tight Ends. The only player Bradford has is Steven Jackson.
January 16, 201214 yr Yeah, well... at least Bradford. I can understand passing on old man Hasselbeck and whatnot, but Bradford is decent. I wouldn't comment on Ponder though, because they're both at a stage in their career where you don't know what'll happen next. True, however I liked Ponder dating back to the NFL Draft. I think he's going to be a very good QB.
January 16, 201214 yr The Raiders traded for Palmer, he never decided to come back. If Jason Campbell doesn't break his collar bone, Carson Palmer doesn't play this year. And he was terrible. Bradford is in a bad situation, sure, but have you watched him? He's really terrible. The statistics back it up. And great , you liked Ponder. Hes played as much as Tebow and has been worse. Saying you'd take him is based on nothing. God damnit, I f***ing hate you guys for making me defend Tebow because he's terrible too.
January 16, 201214 yr He's gotten all of this attention for "winning games" when he's realistically just gone 9-7 in his 16 starts in the NFL. Amazing! First time ever! Ohmygosh! Tebowing! He's religious, he's amazing! Bingo....Chad Henne started his career 9-3 and looking competent at the QB position, yet no one seemed to notice.

The point is he retired on his own because Mike Brown would not trade him. It wasn't because of talent level. Had he traded him during the off season, Palmer would have never retired. Bradford's terrible play and numbers are because of the terrible team around him. I know Ponder has been worse this season, but his potential is much higher. Same with Bradford. That's my point.
January 16, 201214 yr General consensus of a Patriots-Giants Superbowl or do you guys think otherwise?
January 16, 201214 yr Also, Zimmer interviewed with the Bucs. They want to interview Joe Philbin next, I think.

And the larger point is that he was not going to be the starter in Cincinnati and nobody was willing to trade for him until the Raiders got desperate in Week 6 when their starter got hurt. If it wasn't for Jason Campbell getting hurt, his career would be over. And he hasn't been any good over his last two seasons. And was really bad this season. It's not all because of the team around him. Sorry, it's not. He was barely better than AJ Feeley this season with the same cast. And you think Ponder's potential is higher based on what? He has a worse college and NFL track record, so what's it based on?
January 17, 201214 yr Teams DID want to trade for Palmer. Hell, one of those teams was Miami. Mike Brown just didnt allow it. So, he chose to retire. Not because his talent, because he did not want to play for Mike Brown. Now, he very may well be below average, but he'll perform better than Tebow and at worst be a solid back up. I disagree. It was. I can't even name his best receiver. Lance Kendricks was horrible. He had absolutely nothing in St. Louis. Worse college track record? What? Based on what? He had a better track record than Tebow. Much more potential. Much better accuracy, better arm strength, mechanics, played in a pro style system, had better pocket presence. Tim Tebow still has the same problems today he had back in the draft. Ponder was a better prospect coming out.
January 17, 201214 yr This is pointless. You're right, the guy who was better than both of those guys this year is worse than them. Stop making me defend Tebow.

January 17, 201214 yr Author I only love him because God loves him (more than all of us, apparently).
January 17, 201214 yr Author God doesn't love all of them. That's why everyone loves Tim Tebow and hates Bono.
January 18, 201214 yr Honestly, how many coaches have had a brilliant pedigree somewhere else and then led a new team to glory? Every great coach was once just some assistant. Just get me somebody with a hard-edge that will make the guys prepare and a level head in pressure situations, because we have good coordinators already.
January 18, 201214 yr Author For a second my mind went blank and I thought you were calling Dan Henning a good coordinator... Then I realized...

I thought of Mike Zimmer as that type of coach. Apparently, the rumor is he was too blunt and straight forward in his interview.
