August 29, 201114 yr I guess I'll make some predictions here. NFC South- Saints NFC North- Packers NFC East- Eagles NFC West- Rams Wild Card- Falcons and bears AFC South- Texans AFC North- Ravens AFC East- Pats AFC West- Chargers Wild Card-Steelers and Colts.
August 29, 201114 yr Andre Gurode released. I expect the Dolphins to sign him. Acquiring Gurode and getting Long back would be huge additions for the line and help the running game a big way.
August 29, 201114 yr It's probably odd to hear me say this, but I think the Dolphins will surprise some people in a positive way this year.
August 29, 201114 yr AFC East: Patriots AFC North: Steelers AFC South: Texans AFC West: Chargers Wild Cards: Jets and Browns (sleeper) NFC East: Dallas NFC North: Green Bay NFC South: Atlanta NFC West: Arizona Wild Cards: Eagles and Lions

Browns, Lions and Cardinals stand out to me the most.
August 29, 201114 yr NFC South- Saints NFC North- Packers NFC East- Eagles NFC West- Rams Wild Card- Falcons, Bears AFC South- Colts AFC North- Ravens AFC East- Pats AFC West- Chargers Wild Card- Steelers, Jets Thought about taking the Texans.. but every year they burn me. Lions are way too sexy of a pick this year. Still a year away and a brutal schedule doesn't help.

August 30, 201114 yr Eagles reach a contract extension with Mike Vick. 6 years for 100 million dollars, which I believe makes him the highest paid QB? Not sure. Way too much for Mike Vick, though.
August 30, 201114 yr Author Way too long for Vick, too. So silly, have they learned nothing from history?
August 30, 201114 yr AFC East: Patriots AFC North: Steelers AFC South: Texans AFC West: Chargers Wild Cards: Jets and Browns (sleeper) NFC East: Dallas NFC North: Green Bay NFC South: Atlanta NFC West: Arizona Wild Cards: Eagles and Lions Some surprising picks there. Browns, Lions and Cardinals stand out to me the most. Take a look at the Browns schedule, they dont play anyone. I agree with Iowa. the Lions have a killer schedule. If they had the Browns schedule, they'd win 11 games. I still think they can get into the playoffs with a 9-7 record. As for the Cardinals, they still have some firepower and play in the worst division in the NFL.
August 31, 201114 yr Running game, secondary and WR depth is what concerns me about Detroit.. combined with tough schedule is why I took the under on their 7.5 wins this year (at +155). A team on the upswing but a year away, IMO. Will definitely be a tough game for whomever they play
September 3, 201114 yr Running game, secondary and WR depth is what concerns me about Detroit.. combined with tough schedule is why I took the under on their 7.5 wins this year (at +155). A team on the upswing but a year away, IMO. Will definitely be a tough game for whomever they play We have them week 1. Expecting Megatron to pick on a rusty Aqib Talib. Hopefully we should get off to a winning start though.
September 7, 201114 yr Take a look at the Browns schedule, they dont play anyone. I agree with Iowa. the Lions have a killer schedule. If they had the Browns schedule, they'd win 11 games. I still think they can get into the playoffs with a 9-7 record. Are we talking about the same Browns vs. the same Lions? The Schedules look pretty comparable to me. Unless you guys think that Minnesota is a powerhouse.

Hopefully we should get off to a winning start though. That should be a good game. TB really intrigues me this year. Hopefully Clayborn has a nice season for them! CAN'T WAIT for the season to begin. Haven't seen very many analysts pick the Bears to win more than 8... depends on how they do on their first 7 games before the bye. If they make it through with their head above water, they have a good chance to do some damage after the bye.
September 8, 201114 yr Take a look at the Browns schedule, they dont play anyone. I agree with Iowa. the Lions have a killer schedule. If they had the Browns schedule, they'd win 11 games. Unless you guys think that Minnesota is a powerhouse. I dont think so. The Browns play the NFC west and AFC South. Their first four games are Cincinnati at Indy (probably no Manning) Miami Tennessee They can easily start the season 4-0. That's followed with @Oakland, Seattle and @ SF. All those teams had losing records last year except the Colts. However, the Colts will most likely be without Manning.
September 8, 201114 yr I don't buy into the Bears or Cowboys being worth a sh*t. So that leaves 2 games against Green Bay, late-season San Diego and a pile of useless. The Browns have the Steelers twice, the Ravens twice, and Green Bay
September 8, 201114 yr I don't buy into the Bears or Cowboys being worth a sh*t. So that leaves 2 games against Green Bay, late-season San Diego and a pile of useless. The Browns have the Steelers twice, the Ravens twice, and Green Bay If you dont want to buy into the Bears that is fine. They were still an 11-5 team last year. The Lions play 8 teams that won at least 10 games last season plus San Diego. The Browns play 5 teams that won at least 10 games. One of those teams is the colts in Week 2 who will almost certainly not have Peyton Manning. The Lions play 6 teams that did not have winning records in 2010. The Browns play 12 teams that did not have winning records in 2011. Seems pretty clear to me...
September 8, 201114 yr Bears 2006: 13-3 2007: 7-9 2008: 9-7 2009: 7-9 2010: 11-5 2011: ???? - I am going with 8-8, tops. 2010 was 2010. You probably think the Vikings should have been counted as a "tough schedule" opponent last year based upon 2009.
September 8, 201114 yr Outside of myself, everyone and their mother picked Minnesota to be a playoff team last year. That was one of my main satisfactions last year (other than bears playing well) was seeing minnesota stink and knowing that they were going to stink. I am curious as to why Detroit is such a sexy pick this year. Their QB can't stay healthy, they have no running game, thin WR corps outside Megatron, tough schedule (IMO) and one of the worst secondaries in the league. 7-9 As far as the bears, we'll see. I'm optimistic for the season but that is SOP with me.
