Posted September 7, 201113 yr What do you expect the average attendance will be for a weekday game (poll)? How about Saturday/Sunday?
September 8, 201113 yr To start the season I think were gonna have great attendance. I think it will stay that way if we stay in contention. If we fall out of the races fast like before the AS break I bet we'll see crappy numbers like at Sun Life. Though even if we have small attendance figures it wont look so bad in a 36k seat stadium compared to a 70k seat stadium.
September 8, 201113 yr Hey now, these brackets are laaaaame. I was looking for 18,000-22,000. It wasn't there. So I went with the lower one to play it safe. I don't think attendance figures will change very much, however we wont have to report higher figures than we actually had in the ballpark. Just my take.
September 8, 201113 yr Probably 35+ for the first couple of weeks and then level off to 30-35 for most of the season.
September 8, 201113 yr Full season packages have been doing very well. Now the 41 game plans are starting up, so that number should rise considerably. After that, MAYBE different plans. But I wouldn't count so much on that. So I would think official attendance will be high (near sell outs) but actual attendance will be around 15K if the team isn't competing. But this is just for 2012. Beyond that is totally different.
September 8, 201113 yr ACTUAL attendance will certainly be better. i could see actual attendance being fro 18-22 thousand if the team doesnt the attendence reported should be around 30,000 on average considering weve been reporting 20-21 thousand the last few week which of course was not actual attendance but tickets sold.

If we fall out of the races fast like before the AS break I bet we'll see crappy numbers like at Sun Life. Ditto on all points, adding: First few weeks will draw huge crowds as people indulge in their first game at the new park. Attendance will then drop off considerably through May, stabilizing into June but maintaining a slow decline. If we're in decent shape come the AS break, attendance will continue to decline slowly through July, but then upswing late August into September if we maintain the race. However, if we fall out of the races fast before the AS break like dom2613 mentioned, expect to be able to count the heads by hand come August.

Just noticed your alias is browardpb. Ballpark envy much? Nope. Just a fan being realistic.
September 14, 201113 yr The Nationals averaged just short of 30,000 in their first year at the new park, I believe. The Marlins should probably be able to top that.

September 21, 201113 yr New ballpark smell does wear off, but not as fast as you think it will. The game experience is going to be much better than it is now. People will go to games because they want to be entertained instead of how it is now where they go just because they are fans. I've posted my thinking of why attendance will drop after 2012. Long time season ticket holders that bought for 2012 just because they have waited so long for this event, and then cancelling their packages after for whatever reason. Those package holders that "doubled up" for 2012 because they see a potential for making a profit selling their tickets, and then going back to their normal packages after the season. These aren't predictions. These are facts from season ticket holders I have talked to. Then there are the South Dade residents that in one thread say PBC and Broward had their chance to show attendance and failed. now it's time for South Dade to show how to do it. Then in another thread say if a play off caliber team isn't put on the field they will stop showing up. I call that the "Hypocritical Oath." I take a very pessimistic attitude towards any prediction of great attendance post 2012 because it is constantly being shown to me. Guess we will have to wait and see.
September 21, 201113 yr The 1st year I can see actual crowds in April & May being 30-35,000 every night. Come June, I can see it slacking off to 25-30,000 and by the AS Break if we are out of it, settling down to 20-25,000 every night until the end of the season. But if we are in it, I could see weeknights at 30,000, day games at 20,000 and Saturdays as sellouts and Sundays at 25-30,000.
September 21, 201113 yr NOW THAT THE LOGO IS SUCKY I THINK ZERO FANS! You took my bit. You don't own mocking.

September 29, 201113 yr Great attendance at the game today, around 34-35,000. I suspect at first, (first three weeks maybe?) we would see figures around that. Probably in the 29-33,000 range. If the team keeps winning and is in contention, it should stay like that. If we start playing like crap again, it's not gonna eclipse 16,000...and you can't blame that on the rain and football lights.
October 6, 201113 yr I'll take a week ban bet that there's not more than 3 games with fewer than 16K fans.
October 6, 201113 yr I'll take a week ban bet that there's not more than 3 games with fewer than 16K fans. You and mets_bs can have a cup of tea together with your ban bets and such. I'll take up this offer, if (and only if) the Marlins complete what I judge as a good off-season.
