Plus Beltre was better offensively.. which as we all know, is a major factor in the voting.

What I love is that Rays led the majors in fewest errors and the AL in fielding percentage (tied in the majors with the Phillies in that cat) and not one player got a defensive award. I gues being the best isn't good enough (?)

1) Fielding percentage is not a good metric. The fact that the Phillies, with guys like Howard, Brown, and Ibanez butchering in the OF, also lead in that category is proof enough of that.

2) Being the best as a team doesn't make you the best individually, regardless. You could definitely make the argument that the Rays were the best defensive team in baseball, though.

Note that no Rays won a Fielding Bible Award either (and Beltre won the award for third base).

We've already said to you that Beltre was better Longo by every statistic and you brushed it off completely. Any other Rays that you want to argue were the best fielders in baseball?

Beltre and Longoria are both good choices. I don't know if the "stats" give Longoria the credit he deserves for his DP turning abilities.

Even if you can make a case for Longoria, it's still wrong to say he got "robbed" by having the award go to Beltre. Someone is "robbed" when the award goes to a much inferior player. That is clearly not the case here.
