EricWiener
I'm not sure why you just threw out the Dallas series, but alright. Because it demonstrates that the Heat will likely make the finals. If you would prefer, an intact big three is 25-10 in post season play.
StantonisKing
Can't believe Drew Gordon didn't get drafted. I think Pat Riley did a solid job tonight. Got a center at or close to 7' who can't be any worse than Anthony or Turiaf and a future 1st rounder.
bobbob1313
He can definitely be worse than Anthony and Turiaf.
StantonisKing
We'll see. They aren't all-world talents so he has a chance. Coming into the draft the Heat needed to get bigger and got a guy who's 6'11"+ and over 260 who was productive in college. He had some really bad games against top 25 teams but had some really good ones as well.
bobbob1313
Joel Anthony is a terrific defensive center. I'd be shocked if this guy is even in camp with the Heat. The Heat don't really need to get bigger. They played at their best with small lineups.
EricWiener
The Heat don't really need to get bigger. They played at their best with small lineups. That does not mean they do not need or want to get bigger. They played their best with small lineups because their best talent is not found in their bigs. If Tyson Chandler was on the Heat, the Heat would have played big.
I Love Me Some Fish
Cost cutting moves. Shouldn't be too surprising. They're also getting Varnado back from Europe.

No, the Heat played better with small lineups because LeBron James is best suited to play the power forward. Finding a quality big man is the hardest thing to do in the NBA. The odds of doing so are so low that it is not worth chasing them.
dim
Cost cutting moves. Shouldn't be too surprising. They're also getting Varnado back from Europe. This. Varnado is the real draft pick this year. He actually has a chance of making the team.
bobbob1313
The Varnado thing is funny to me.
dim
Because he has more of a chance to be the 15th man than Hamilton? Hell, he could even get garbage playing time with his shot blocking ability. I never called him a future starter or anything. Just a guy with a better chance at making the roster. Stop being...well, whatever you've always been. bobbob1313
Because he has more of a chance to be the 15th man than Hamilton? I don't really see why this is so. Both of them are nothing. But you are not the only Heat fan I have seen do a Varnado thing. It is funny to me. Remember when Heat fans wanted Dexter Pittman to play more too? Heat fans also did it with Norris Cole this season. It is just funny to me when people get excited about a young player simply because he hasn't failed yet. It is not just a Dim thing, or just a Heat fan thing. Magic fans last year were super upset because Ish Smith never played. It's just funny. EricWiener
I want Cole to play more during the regular season to spare Wade's knees.
StantonisKing
Phoenix signs and trades Nash to Lakers for 2 first rounders and 2 second rounders. They're old, but Nash and Kobe are still a hell of a guard combonation. Then you have Gasol and Bynum at PF and C? Tough.

StantonisKing
People are mentioning that Camby coming to Miami is also a possibility? Don't know how that would get done but if it does this team will have no flaws.
StantonisKing
Celtic fans already labeling him with the nickname "BetRay". Sports can be something else.
dim
A sign and trade where we give Houston our 1st rounder from Philly and Joel Anthony for Marcus Camby is being talked about. First off, I love the idea of getting Camby. Second, Anthony still has 3 years left on that 5 yr, 18 million dollar contract he signed in 2010. We'd basically be paying Camby the same for starting at center and getting serious rebounds that we'd be paying Anthony for coming off the bench. If Pat pulls this off, and we can sign Rashard Lewis for the minimum, I really can't imagine a better offseason.
