the franchise is moving into a new $634 million ballpark, a retractable roof Xanadu-cum-stadium-sized ATM in Little Havana that figures to make team owner Jeffrey Loria even richer

I've heard the stadium called lots of things, but, uh..... wtf

Just another pompous ass who isn't as intelligent as he tries to make himself seem. Maybe I'm just not smart enough to grasp his higher level of intellect, but why the hell is he talking about here:

Following the financial meltdown of 2008, President Bush diagnosed the deus ex machina of the Great Recession like this: "Wall Street got drunk."

What the hell? How is that even a deus ex machina?

How does he propose we Occupy the Marlins? I skimmed the rest of the article, but I didn't see anything else that made sense. I guess we could go to games? I'm down with that, imbecile.

And how in the hell is Ozzie Guillen worth 3 wins? If he's worth 3 wins, then by sabermetrics standards he is a bargain.

Tried to post the comment but couldn't- here it is.

Wow-this entire blog entry is just a steaming pile of poop.

Outside of the 191 million they are paying those three players, this year they are only spending 27 million with the extremely backloaded deals.

They gave themselves two years to make a profit before they blow it up.

Buerlhe at 6 in 2012, Reyes at 10.

Between you and Passan I am stumped how your employed. Occupy Yahoo.

Passan actually gave us props for signing those guys and trying on Pujols.

Ignoring the venom entirely, this is a rambling pile of nonsense.

The article reads like a jizz stained opinion piece someone wrote drunk after masturbating to South Park.

I will not have you sully inebriated animation-driven masturbation by comparing it to such untalented screed!

Lets have a real good time!!!

Oh, and this is the most absurd part of the article for me (emphasis mine):

But no longer. Last week, the Marlins spent $191 million on three players -- almost as much as the $210 million the club spent on its total roster combined during the past six seasons. Reportedly, the team is looking to add more talent...What changed? Only this: The franchise is moving into a new $634 million ballpark, a retractable roof Xanadu-cum-stadium-sized ATM in Little Havana that figures to make team owner Jeffrey Loria even richer...

He doesn't even seem to be aware of the stadium's ability to generate the revenue for the franchise in order to increase payroll. There is no acknowledgment of the Huzienga lease situation that completely stifled the team's ability to spend money. He is clueless if he thinks that the taxpayers will be paying for Reyes, Bell, and Buehrle, and not the fans who will be generating revenue by attending games.

It's completely ass backwards to think that taxpayers are writing the players' checks.

Wait, you didn't send in your check for the Jose Reyes tax?

Soooooo glad I moved out of state. It's bad enough those bastards take such low sales tax and no state income tax, and now this!!

I am not a fan of public ballpark financing, but the team's lease is going to pay the city back.

COME AT ME BRO!
